We’re curious not only about the Super Bowl winner but also about Taylor Swift’s seatmate
This Sunday, being friends with Taylor Swift could really pay off.
As Super Bowl 59 draws near, some of the best seats in New Orleans’ Caesars Superdome will be occupied by the music superstar and her chosen guest.
So, who might be lucky enough to sit next to Swift while she supports her partner, Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, in battle against the Philadelphia Eagles?
Your best guesses for this exclusive guest list could include A-listers like Selena Gomez and her fiancé Benny Blanco, actress Blake Lively and husband Ryan Reynolds, as well as singers Sabrina Carpenter and Ice Spice. These stars have all spent time with both Swift and Kelce’s family in a private box over the last year and a half. (However, given the ongoing drama surrounding Lively’s lawsuit against Justin Baldoni, she might be left off the list this time around.)
Why Miles Teller won’t be joining Taylor Swift at Super Bowl 59
But one couple that won’t be attending this year is actor Miles Teller and his wife Keleigh, even though they joined Swift in her box for the Chiefs’ second consecutive Super Bowl victory last year against the San Francisco 49ers.
Why haven’t they received an invitation this time? It’s plain and simple: team loyalty. Teller informed People magazine that since both he and his wife are devoted Eagles fans (Teller grew up in Pennsylvania and Delaware), they couldn’t bear to enjoy the game among Chief supporters.
“She’s a diehard Birds fan,” Teller stated. “Although she hails from Southern California, marrying into a Philadelphia sports family changes everything.” He expressed his excitement by saying: “I’ll be in a sea of green.”
A quick look at Swift’s previous appearances at Chiefs games—mostly occurring during her record-breaking global Eras Tour—gives insight into who else could receive an invite for this highly coveted ticket. Led by quarterback Patrick Mahomes, the Chiefs are poised to secure an NFL-record third consecutive Super Bowl win; historically, no other team has achieved this feat after winning two titles in a row. (For context, megastar Tom Brady has seven Super Bowl rings but never won three consecutively.)
Taylor Swift’s Chiefs game appearances: From solo outings with Donna Kelce to star-studded cheer squads
Swift’s first time at a Chiefs game was on September 24, 2023, a moment that excited her fans as it hinted at the seriousness of her relationship with the tall athlete.
A week later, she attended the game against the Jets and brought along a star-studded group that included Carpenter (fresh off Grammy wins), Hugh Jackman, Sophie Turner, and also Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively, who is currently involved in a significant legal battle related to claims of inappropriate behavior by director Justin Baldoni on the set of “It Ends With Us.”
That fall, Swift was seen in a box with Mahomes’ wife Brittany, who has gained attention from former President Donald Trump, who once tweeted: “I hate Taylor Swift.” Despite possible tension, Brittany and Swift have often been spotted celebrating victories together, and it’s safe to assume Mahomes will cheer alongside her supporting his wife.
Other notable attendees supporting Swift in previous seasons include her father Scott Swift, brother Austin, singer Lana Del Rey, and some friends from her Eras Tour, like backup singer Melanie Nyema and stylist Ashley Avigonone.
Inviting coworkers to join you in the Chiefs suite is a lovely and inclusive gesture, typical of a superstar who rewarded her crew with $197 million in bonuses after her tour concluded. While Eras Tour veterans might want to take their boss up on such generosity, it might be wiser for everyone else to scout out a good sports bar instead.
For everyone else in Celebrityland, Super Bowl 59 is the hardest ticket in town. So, better call in those favors from your Swiftie friends!
