Survivor Season 47, Episode 5: A Stunning Betrayal Leaves One Castaway’s Journey in Tatters!

‘Survivor’ Season 47, Episode 5: A castaway was blindsided by their tribe. Who went home?

The latest episode of “Survivor” Season 47 treated castaways to a unique experience as they got to mingle with other tribes before the merge.

In Episode 5, titled “The Scales Be Tippin,” the three tribes participated in a reward challenge. They were divided into two groups and tackled an obstacle course for a chance to enjoy a cookout at the “Survivor” sanctuary. Only one group, made up of members from Tuku, Lavo, and Gata, emerged victorious, earning the reward and the opportunity to strategize with previously unacquainted castaways.

Following the reward, the castaways returned to their original tribes and faced an immunity challenge, where one tribe faced defeat, resulting in a contestant being sent home.

Season 47 of the CBS reality show has kicked off strong with balanced competition, exciting twists, and interesting characters.

Here’s who was eliminated in “Survivor” Season 47, Episode 5.

Who went home on ‘Survivor’ Season 47, Episode 5?

After the rewarding challenge, Sam Phalen and Rachel LaMont from Gata enjoyed their time at the Sanctuary, where they downplayed their strategic ties to their fellow tribe members in conversations with the other contestants.

However, luck was not on Gata’s side during the immunity challenge, as they finished last in a strenuous obstacle course that included tasks such as cutting ropes, carrying a heavy net of coconuts, and knocking down and rebuilding blocks. Despite their successful deal with host Jeff Probst to exchange eggs for their previously won chickens, their third-place finish meant they lost their flint, preventing them from making fire, and they were headed to tribal council.

During the discussions, Phalen teamed up with alliance members Sierra Wright and Andy Rueda to target Anika Dhar, catching LaMont off guard, who had believed the plan was to oust Rueda instead.

Dhar was blindsided by the vote, and with tears in her eyes, she questioned her tribe about the orchestration of the vote as she left the game.

Who went home last week on ‘Survivor’?

In the previous episode, the Lavo tribe finished last in the immunity challenge. Consequently, tribe members Genevieve Mushaluk, Rome Cooney, Kishan Patel, Solomon “Sol” Yi, and Teeny Chirichillo had to vote one of their own out.

Cooney had a “steal a vote” advantage, while Chirichillo faced a disadvantage from losing a vote earlier in the episode. Initially, Yi feared he was going home due to his tense relationship with Cooney, but the rest of the tribe had other plans.

At the tribal council, thanks to Cooney’s two votes from the “steal a vote” advantage, the majority decided to eliminate Kishan Patel, a 28-year-old ER doctor from San Francisco.
