Revolutionizing Healthcare: The Future of Point-of-Care Testing with Innovative Bioluminescent Immunosensors

A novel nanobody-based immunosensor, designed to function stably in undiluted biological fluids and harsh conditions, has been developed. Their innovative design leverages BRET -- bioluminescence resonance energy transfer -- and exhibits great potential for point-of-care testing, therapeutic drug monitoring, and environmental applications using paper-based devices. Sydney Sweeney Shares Her Go-To Romantic Comedy, Denim Must-Haves, and Playlist Favorites

Sydney Sweeney shares her love for rom-coms, favorite jeans, and current playlists

In the latest edition of YSL News’s The Essentials, stars reveal their inspirations, whether it’s at home, on set, or traveling.

Sydney Sweeney is embracing a laid-back lifestyle.

The Emmy-nominated actress from “Euphoria” and “The White Lotus” has gained acclaim in high-profile television series, appeared in both horror films and romantic comedies, and captivated audiences at glamorous events like the Met Gala. However, you could just as easily find the 27-year-old in a simple white T-shirt and overalls, busy fixing a classic car.

“There’s a lot to discuss about each car; I’m a huge fan. I often wear overalls; it’s my signature look,” Sweeney remarks, clearly excited as she talks about her current project filming a biopic on boxer Christy Martin in North Carolina (“a truly incredible experience”).

Sweeney reveals what’s currently on her music playlist, her go-to jeans, and the romantic comedy that inspired her 2023 movie “Anyone But You.”

Sydney Sweeney’s music playlist

While Taylor Swift is on her Eras tour, Sweeney has created playlists to represent her various acting roles.

“For each character I play, I curate unique playlists. The music I listen to changes depending on the project,” she explains.

“When I begin working on a project, I tend to stop listening to everything else, but I’ve really been enjoying Tate (McRae) and Chappell Roan, plus I’ve always been a big fan of Billie (Eilish). If you check my Instagram, you’ll see I often feature Lana Del Rey songs in my reels. So, I’m totally a Lana fan.”

She isn’t shy about her music platform choice either, stating, “I’m definitely a Spotify fan.”

Sydney Sweeney’s essentials on set

No matter where she’s filming or the trailer setup, Sweeney aims to make her work environment cozy.

“On set, I always ensure my trailer is stocked with my essentials. I keep a fridge filled with Bai drinks, my favorites being the pilavo pineapple mango and raspberry lemon lime,” Sweeney shares, who has a partnership with the beverage brand for its WonderWater line.

“An ice roller is a must-have for me to help with puffiness, along with a speaker for my music. I really love fuzzy blankets, pillows, and string lights, so those are staples as well,” she adds.

However, the actress makes it a point to keep her professional and personal life distinct.

“I always try to keep my characters separate from my personal life. I think it’s very beneficial for my well-being. After a shoot, I like to go home to my dog, Tank. We spend time together, enjoy some food, maybe watch TV, and I prepare for the next day’s lines.”

Sydney Sweeney’s favorite rom-com is a Julia Roberts classic that influenced ‘Anyone But You’ cast

In her romantic comedy “Anyone But You,” which stars Glen Powell, Sweeney brings fresh life to the genre. However, her all-time favorite film remains a classic from Julia Roberts.

“Without a doubt, it’s ‘My Best Friend’s Wedding.’ I adore Julia Roberts, and it was just fantastic. Plus, Cameron Diaz’s character was so funny. So, I think that’s probably one of my top picks,” Sweeney shares.

The beloved film from 1997 also played a role in the casting process for “Anyone,” as the original “Wedding” star, Dermot Mulroney, made a return to the genre.

“While we were casting for my dad in ‘Anyone But You,’ I was constantly saying, ‘What about Dermot? This could be something special.’ I was extremely excited when Dermot joined the team.”

Sweeney’s go-to comfort TV show is a classic detective series

When it’s time to unwind, Sweeney makes a beeline for NBC’s long-running series featuring tireless detectives on the Special Victims Unit.

“I’ve watched every single episode numerous times,” she admits about “Law and Order: SVU.” Her favorite seasons are 8-10, “where the cast was at its most iconic. I think those might be the best seasons, though I still enjoy the newer ones, too.”

Similar to Mariska Hargitay’s character, Olivia Benson, Sweeney has a soft spot for Elliot Stabler, played by Christopher Meloni. “I’ve always been a fan of Stabler, and I’ve enjoyed watching the spinoff series,” she mentions, referring to “Law & Order: Organized Crime.”

Fashion icon Sydney Sweeney loves the simplicity of a classic white T-shirt and jeans

As a fashion darling, Sweeney has become a prominent figure in the style world, partnering with brands like Miu Miu and Tory Burch and consistently appearing on best-dressed lists. Yet, in her daily life, she often opts for a timeless outfit choice.

“I’m definitely a plain white T-shirt person. I mix and match from different brands depending on the look I’m going for,” she explains. “I have my Levi’s white T-shirts and also my Cotton On ones, which I love pairing with casual jeans. For jeans, I really like Levi’s, Frame, and Agolde.”

As she prepares for her role as Martin in the upcoming biopic, her wardrobe has shifted slightly.

“Since June, I’ve been living in workout clothes for my film prep. I hardly remember wearing anything else at this point.
