Burger King’s ‘Million Dollar Whopper’ finalists: How to taste and vote for your favorite
Burger King is challenging its customers to try three innovative versions of its classic Whopper to select a winner in the “Million Dollar Whopper Contest.”
This contest was introduced earlier this year, offering patrons the chance to create their ideal Whopper with an array of toppings—both sweet and savory—aiming to win $1 million and have their creation featured in Burger King locations nationwide for a limited time. Submissions for the “Million Dollar Whopper” contest closed a few months later.
From over a million entries, three finalists were selected: the Fried Pickle Ranch Whopper, the Maple Bourbon BBQ Whopper, and the Mexican Street Corn Whopper, as revealed by Burger King in a press statement.
Starting Thursday, Nov. 14, customers at selected Burger King branches can sample the three custom Whopper options and cast their votes for their favorite.
“We look forward to seeing how our guests compare these three new options to the classic Whopper, culminating in one lucky winner of the $1 million prize,” expressed Pat O’Toole, a marketing executive at Burger King North America, in the press release.

The special Whopper creations will be available for purchase beginning Thursday, Nov. 14, at selected locations across the United States, while supplies last.
Burger King unveils ‘Million Dollar Whopper Contest’ finalists
These three finalists represent creative interpretations of the beloved Whopper, blending both classic and modern flavors. Two of the finalist creations originate from California, while the third comes from Nebraska, according to Burger King.
The “Million Dollar Whopper Contest” finalists are:
- Fried Pickle Ranch Whopper: Features a quarter-pound flame-grilled beef patty topped with creamy pickle ranch sauce, lettuce, fried pickles, bacon, and Swiss cheese, served on a toasted sesame seed bun. This idea was crafted by Fabian from California.
- Maple Bourbon BBQ Whopper: Includes a quarter-pound flame-grilled beef patty, finished with maple bourbon BBQ sauce, crispy onions, jalapeños, smoky maple candied bacon, and American cheese on a toasted sesame seed bun. Calvin from California created this Whopper.
- Mexican Street Corn Whopper: Contains a quarter-pound flame-grilled beef patty layered with creamy street corn spread, lettuce, tomato, crunchy tortilla chips, and spicy queso, all on a toasted sesame seed bun. This innovation was developed by Kelsie from Nebraska.
