Taylor Swift Performs a Medley on Piano in Toronto

Amid the cheers of 49,000 fans at the Rogers Centre on Thursday, Taylor Swift stood out in a striking raspberry and blue dress.

“One of my favorite parts of the night,” Swift told the Toronto audience before explaining her acoustic set rules—the segment of the Eras Tour during which she plays select songs on guitar and piano. “Wish me luck.”

Swift kicked off with “Mr. Perfectly Fine,” an upbeat vault track from “Fearless (Taylor’s Version).”

“Oh, I see you know this one,” she beamed at the crowd, which responded with excitement. “Sing along if you know the lyrics.  It’s time for a little revenge.”

Fans in the packed arena lit up, anticipating her next choice: “Better Than Revenge” from “Speak Now.” (And for those curious, yes, it features the updated line in “Taylor’s Version”: “He was a moth to the flame, it was.”)

Swift beautifully combined the lines, “You deserve some applause ’cause you’re so much better, and you’re Mr. Perfectly Fine.”

While the first two songs delivered a spirited break-up vibe, her next two piano songs offered a heartfelt love letter.

She played a tender, slow version of “State of Grace” from “Red (Taylor’s Version)” paired with “Labyrinth” from “Midnights.”

As she concluded, she reflected: “This is a state of grace. I’m falling in love. I’m falling in love again. I thought the plane was going down, but how’d you turn it right around?” She smiled as her fingers danced over the piano keys.

With only five shows left, the tour wraps up on Dec. 8 in Vancouver, Canada.
