Taylor Swift Teases Big News on January 23 — But It’s Not ‘Reputation (Taylor’s Version)’!

Taylor Swift teases fans with an announcement on 1/23, but it’s not ‘Reputation (Taylor’s Version)’ this time

A mysterious tweet from Taylor Nation, Taylor Swift’s promotional team, stirred excitement among fans: “Help we need a Valentine’s Day gift idea for our lover 😭.”

Fans speculated on social media platforms like Instagram and TikTok that a potential announcement regarding “Reputation (Taylor’s Version)” might be coming Thursday morning, linking the date 1/23 to the chant “1  2 3 let’s go” that Swifties shout before the song “Delicate” at her concerts.

But at noon ET, the team dropped a surprise with a different announcement: “The secret to being someone’s lover forever and ever? Surprise them with a #LoverCardigan! 💘 Available for 72 hours or while supplies last.”

At a price of $70, this stylish white-and-pink heart-themed cardigan joins other cardigans inspired by Swift’s albums, including “Folklore,” “Red (Taylor’s Version),” “1989 (Taylor’s Version),” “Speak Now (Taylor’s Version),” “Midnights,” and “The Tortured Poets Department.”

Swift’s marketing team has been ramping up promotions for the “Lover” line as Valentine’s Day approaches. On January 7, her merchandise team also released her “Lover (Live From Paris)” heart-shaped vinyl records.

The two-disc vinyl set, featuring eight tracks, sold out within an hour of its announcement, quickly reaching No. 1 on the Billboard Top Album Sales chart. This success propelled the Eras Tour artist ahead of Jay-Z, giving her 15 No. 1 albums compared to his 14, according to Billboard.
