Although we might claim to be alright, deep down it’s a different story. The conclusion of the Eras Tour is almost here.
Taylor Swift’s groundbreaking show has journeyed across five continents and 51 cities. Fans have battled tirelessly to secure tickets, danced outside stadiums with their roofs open, showcased their creative outfits, and tuned into sometimes fuzzy live streams. Now, the tour is wrapping up with three performances in Vancouver (what’s being playfully referred to as Swift-couver), Canada.

Taylor Swift is moments away from hitting the stage
Music from Ice Spice’s “In Ha Mood” is playing, signaling the arrival of dancers and bandmates backstage. Swift’s team is cleverly moving her in a “cleaning cart” to keep her outfit under wraps. In approximately 8-10 minutes, she will kick off her set with “Miss Americana and the Heartbreak Prince.” The pre-show playlist includes Ice Spice, followed by Lady Gaga’s “Applause” and finally Leslie Gore’s “You Don’t Own Me.”
Gracie Abrams opens the Eras Tour in Vancouver
The first night of the Eras Tour in Vancouver has officially begun. Gracie Abrams took the stage for the opening act, stunning in a long ivory dress with a high slit and chunky white heels.
“I’m Gracie Abrams,” she introduced herself, with a guitar hanging around her neck. “It’s wonderful to meet you all. How is everyone feeling?”
The audience erupted in applause, and Abrams responded, “Same here! I find it hard to express how we should discuss the conclusion of the Eras Tour, but I genuinely couldn’t be more thankful to share this moment with all of you tonight.”
Abrams has been on tour with Swift ever since the concerts resumed in the US and Canada. “I am truly overwhelmed by the spirit of what the Eras Tour has contributed over these last two years.”
Abrams performed a total of nine songs including:
- “Risk”
- “I Love You, I’m Sorry”
- “21”
- “I Told You Things”
- “Let It Happen”
- “Free Now”
- “Us.”
- “Close To You”
- “That’s So True”
As she introduced her final song, Abrams shared her thoughts.
“I’m truly touched by how you’ve embraced this song into your lives. It’s quite — how can I say it — a little petty, a bit angsty,” she explained. “It’s very sarcastic and ultimately talks about the longing for someone you wish you could be with.”
Swift is expected to take the stage in about 25 minutes at 10:50 PM ET / 7:50 PM PT.
Cameras fill the arena
Lights, cameras, smiles! There are many cameras positioned throughout the arena — a drone, a jib, and a flyover camera. Addy Miller, who is on the floor for the Eras Tour, shared images showcasing these additional cameras, reminiscent of those used in Los Angeles when Swift filmed the Eras Tour movie available on Disney+. Among them is a sizable jib, convenient for capturing smooth, sweeping footage in cinematography. Signs indicating that drones will be operational during the concert are also present.
Spotify’s global artist of the year
The holiday season typically marks a time for Swift to earn numerous awards. This year, Miss Americana garnered 17 nominations across 16 Billboard Awards categories. She also received six Grammy nominations for her tracks “Tortured Poets” and “Us.,” a collaboration with Gracie Abrams. Just last week, Swift was recognized as the Spotify Wrapped global artist of the year for the second consecutive year and named Apple Music’s top artist. This remarkable Spotify achievement amounts to a staggering 26.6 billion streams — if each song lasted four minutes, that would equal 106 billion minutes for over 202,000 years.
British Columbia’s Premier Welcomes Swift Fans
David Eby, the Premier of British Columbia, has extended a warm welcome to Taylor Swift’s fans in Vancouver. “The wait is over!” Eby tweeted today. “I’m thrilled to officially welcome Taylor Swift to British Columbia. We’re excited she’s concluding the Eras Tour in Swiftcouver with three concerts. I hope everyone lucky enough to attend enjoys themselves.” His tweet included an adorable image of friendship bracelets. For those unfamiliar, a premier in Canada serves a similar role to a governor in the U.S., acting as the head of government for the province.
Swift Fans Unite for Live Mastermind Event
The Swift Alert app, launched in the summer of 2023, was designed to alert fans across the globe about the start of different show eras. Recently, it introduced a fun game called Mastermind, where millions of fans guess Swift’s outfits and surprise songs during the show. The app’s developer, Kyle Mumma, is in Swift-couver alongside his wife, Mia, and Betsy Sedlak. They are hosting a gathering at the Vogue Theatre tonight, similar to what sports fans do at a bar to watch an exciting game, but it’s all about Swifties competing for Mastermind points. Local tickets are still up for grabs, and fans can keep casting their Mastermind guesses before showtime.
A Swiftmas Wonderland
As we await Gracie Abrams’s performance, here’s a delightful distraction. Check out the suburban couple from Naperville, Illinois, who shot to fame for their impressive Merry Swiftmas House decor for the second consecutive year. Amy and Brian Scott have set up a giant replica typewriter, a life-sized “Folklore” cottage, and a stylish Travis Kelce. Plus, a Big Yeti features on the rooftop! Prepare to be enchanted by their festive display.
Safety Tips from the Police
The Vancouver Police Department has deployed numerous officers wearing bright yellow vests around the concert venue. In a recent Instagram reel, the officers shared some helpful tips for families attending the Eras Tour, such as establishing a meeting spot before entering, especially for those visiting the city and stadium for the first time.
The Doors Have Opened
In an instant, the doors to BC Place Stadium swung open and excited concertgoers began streaming in. Gracie Abrams was scheduled to take the stage shortly, at 6:45 p.m. PT / 9:45 p.m. ET. The weather in the cloud-covered city was a cool 48 degrees Fahrenheit, with rain anticipated to start lightly by 11 p.m., coinciding with the end of the concert.
Is This the End of the Eras Tour?
Fans may be pondering, “Is it over now?” The short answer is yes, according to Taylor Swift. She has consistently stated that the Vancouver concerts will mark the tour’s conclusion. During the “All Too Well” section at the 100th Eras Tour show in Liverpool, she revealed, “This is the very first time I’ve ever acknowledged that this tour will wrap up in December.” The grand finale will be this upcoming Sunday.
Where is Taylor Swift Performing Tonight?
BC Place Stadium, located just north of False Creek in downtown Vancouver, Canada, is the venue for tonight’s show. This impressive arena, which boasts the largest cable-supported retractable roof in the world, opened its doors in 1983 and accommodates over 50,000 attendees. Taylor Swift is the first artist to achieve sold-out status for three shows in a single tour here. A striking 140-foot inflatable friendship bracelet can be seen at the stadium’s entrance, crafted by contemporary artist and sculptor Shawn Kolodny for the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans. This artwork has since traveled to shows in Indianapolis, Toronto, and now Vancouver.
Who is Opening for Taylor Swift?
Gracie Abrams, a rising singer-songwriter, has been the opening act for Taylor Swift on this last leg of the North American Eras Tour.
The two have collaborated on the track “Us.” from Abrams’ album “The Secret of Us.” This summer, Abrams shared a video of Swift helping extinguish a small fire in her New York City apartment after they co-wrote the song, which is now nominated for a Grammy for best pop duo/group performance.

For those not on the Pacific coast, it’s going to be quite a late evening!

Swift Mania Takes Over Swift-couver
Throughout the city, you can spot the “Downtown Lights.” Destination Downtown organized a scavenger hunt featuring 13 different spots. Fans, known as Swifties, who snapped pictures in front of any of the light displays using the Stamp Me app had a chance to win a pair of tickets. Most of the life-sized letters referenced Taylor Swift’s songs such as: “Willow,” “Delicate,” “ME!,” “Anti-Hero,” “Red,” “Betty,” “Karma,” “Shake It Off,” “Down Bad,” “Lover,” “Style,” and “Cardigan.” The last display was “Swift-couver.”
Miguel Barbosa creatively shared a delightful video on Instagram where he and his fiancée, Katie, danced across various locations in the city.
Have 18 Minutes to Spare?
Since February, I have had the privilege of visiting four continents and eight countries, engaging with fans about the remarkable Eras Tour. The concerts have become a vibrant gathering place for Swifties who connect through shared lyrics. If you find yourself with 18 minutes to spare before Swift hits the stage at BC Place, take a moment to watch this mini-documentary showcasing the glittering singer’s influence and why a concert experience like this may be one-of-a-kind.
Covering the Eras Tour: An Experience
As Taylor Swift’s official reporter, it’s not an exaggeration to say that the Eras Tour has dominated my professional and personal life for the past 13 months. I’ve written 501 articles, made 42 appearances on television, shared 974 photographs, edited 38 videos, created a documentary, and authored a book about Swift.
This incredible journey began with YSL News’s viral announcement for the world’s first full-time dedicated Taylor Swift reporter in the summer of 2023. While my experiences are uniquely mine, the overarching themes resonate with all who attended various Eras Tour performances.
You can explore my personal reflections on touring around the world with this concert here.
And though this chapter is concluding, Swift is already hard at work on her next venture. In the foreword to her official concert book, she wrote, “See you in the next era,” which I intend to cover.
Eras Tour Publications
Taylor Swift has released her very own official Eras Tour book, featuring over 500 images from the shows and fresh insights into its production. According to Circana’s BookScan, which monitors most print market sales, 814,000 copies were sold in the book’s first week, making it the second-highest adult nonfiction release after Barack Obama’s memoir “A Promised Land,” which sold 816,300 copies in 2020.
Alongside Swift’s book is YSL News Network’s “This Swift Beat,” which delves into the news, influence, and fans surrounding the songwriter’s grand project. While we haven’t reached 800,000 copies sold just yet, we’re holding onto our hopes!
