Ten Service Members Injured and Airlifted Following Naval Training Accident in Nevada
On Thursday night, ten service members from the Naval Air Station in Fallon, Nevada, were airlifted to Reno due to injuries acquired during a training exercise, as reported by local news outlets.
According to Commander Beth Teach from the Naval Air Forces, the incident involved two MH-60S Seahawk helicopters from Helicopter Sea Combat Squadron 12 at the Fallon air station.
Teach confirmed that the injuries the ten sailors sustained were not life-threatening.
The injured personnel arrived at Pickett Park in Reno around 9:15 p.m., as reported by KRNV. Fallon is situated about 62 miles east of Reno in the Nevada desert, close to the California border.
Renown Regional Medical Center in Reno informed KTVN that they are providing treatment for the ten service members but did not disclose their specific conditions.
