The Texans are currently facing numerous injuries within their receiving unit, and unfortunately, another setback occurred on Saturday.

While the return of Nico Collins is a bright spot, the team is still missing Stefon Diggs for the season, and now they are anxiously monitoring Tank Dell’s situation.

The young receiver was seen in extreme discomfort after making a touchdown catch during the third quarter and was clutching his knee.

Update on Tank Dell’s Injury

After the game, Texans head coach DeMeco Ryans shared with reporters that Dell has sustained a “significant” knee injury. The second-year player will spend the night in a hospital in the Kansas City area for further evaluation of his injury.

According to NBC’s Kathryn Tappen, Dell has been taken to University of Kansas Hospital, where his leg is in a vacuum splint designed for situations where “a fracture or severe instability” is suspected.

Dell was quickly ruled out after being carted off the field due to the serious knee injury, which originated from a collision with teammate Jared Wayne in the end zone. Although Dell managed to secure the touchdown, his leg got trapped under Wayne as he fell.

The distress among the Texans’ players was evident, many appeared visibly shaken by the incident.

Quarterback C.J. Stroud seemed particularly affected, clearly upset that his fellow 2023 draftee may now face another lengthy rehabilitation process.

This injury marks the second consecutive season for Dell impacted by an unfortunate collision with his own teammates. In 2023, he sustained a fractured fibula in a similar incident during a pile-up near the goal line.

Tank Dell’s Statistics

Before the injury sidelined him, Dell was having one of his strongest performances this season, catching 6 out of 7 targets for 98 yards and a touchdown. He seemed on track to surpass the 100-yard mark for only the second time this season before being forced out of the game.
