Texas Takes the Lead in NCAA College Football Re-Rank 1-134, Leaving Ohio State Behind as Alabama Falls from Grace

Texas claims top spot in college football’s NCAA Re-Rank 1-134 as Alabama falls

After a surprising defeat to Vanderbilt, Alabama drops out of the rankings, allowing Texas to secure the No. 1 position in the YSL News Sports Re-Rank 1-134, just ahead of Ohio State.

This shift marks the third team to occupy the top ranking in as many weeks. Georgia held the top position through much of the preseason until their loss to Alabama.

The Longhorns faced stiff competition from the Buckeyes, who put on a strong performance in the second half of their 35-7 victory against Iowa. However, Texas gained the upper hand thanks to a tougher schedule, especially highlighted by their win against Michigan in Week 2.

This week’s rankings saw significant changes following the upsets from Saturday’s games. Alabama fell to No. 9, Tennessee dropped four spots to No. 8 after losing to Arkansas, Missouri slipped to No. 24 after a heavy defeat to Texas A&M, and the Wolverines landed at No. 25 after a loss to Washington.

Among the notable risers in the Power Four are No. 18 Indiana, No. 20 SMU, No. 28 Nebraska, No. 30 Arizona State, and No. 32 Syracuse. In the Group of Five, this week’s standout performers include No. 16 Boise State, No. 23 Navy, No. 63 Sam Houston State, and No. 75 Louisiana-Monroe.
