Although banks and post offices will shut down, some grocery stores, retail outlets, and restaurants will stay open on Thanksgiving, but with modified hours.
If you’re planning to dash to the grocery store for some last-minute items for your feast, Walmart will not be an option this year, as the store announced to YSL News that they will be closed.
The stores will reopen at 6 a.m. local time on Black Friday, as confirmed to YSL News by the company.

- Food Lion: Closing times vary by location
- Meijer: 6 a.m. to 5 p.m.
- Whole Foods: 7 a.m. to 1 p.m.; locations in Massachusetts, Maine, and Rhode Island will be closed
- Harris Teeter: Stores close at 2 p.m.
- Wegman’s: Stores close at 4 p.m.
