The eagerly awaited return of “Yellowstone” is just around the corner.

Paramount Network revealed in June that the second half of Season 5 will debut on Sunday, November 10, at 8 p.m. ET/PT. For viewers abroad, the show will be available on Paramount+ in Canada starting November 10, in the U.K. on November 11, and in Latin America, Brazil, and France at a later date.

The acclaimed series follows the Dutton family, who manage the largest continuous cattle ranch in the U.S. Kevin Costner portrayed the family leader, John Dutton III, but he announced in June that he would not return for the latter part of Season 5.

The series synopsis describes the story as one filled with “shifting alliances, unresolved murders, lingering wounds, and well-earned respect,” depicting the ongoing conflicts faced by the ranch due to its proximity to a growing town, an Indian reservation, and the nation’s first national park.

Reasons Behind Kevin Costner’s Exit from ‘Yellowstone’

Costner shared his decision not to return in a video on his Instagram, coinciding with Paramount Network’s announcement of the November 10 premiere date for the remaining episodes of “Yellowstone.”

The following day, during a media tour for his Western film series Horizon, Costner told YSL News that he grew weary of the uncertainty surrounding his potential return to “Yellowstone.”

Questions about John Dutton’s return frequently arose in interviews, which Costner noted felt overwhelming.

“With all the questions I was receiving about ‘Yellowstone,’ it became increasingly clear. I felt it was best to say this was a turning point,” Costner explained. “It seemed like what I hoped for might not be a reality anymore.”

He mentioned that there wasn’t a particular event during discussions with Paramount Studios or executive producer Taylor Sheridan that prompted his decision to make the video. Rather, he didn’t want to hold on to unrealistic optimism.

“I just wanted to put it out there,” Costner said regarding his video. “I’m not a robot trying to sort this out, but I’m also not someone who wants to leave people in a lurch.”
