Bellamy young announced on Instagram that the cast and creator of ABC’s popular political drama “Scandal”, Shonda Rhimes, would be participating in a script reading virtual later this month.
The fundraiser reunion aims to raise funds for communities in western North Carolina devastated by Hurricane Helene including Young’s home town of Asheville.
One lucky donor will join the call to read a role alongside the cast including Kerry Washington.
No previous acting experience required. The actors are yet to confirm the episode that they will be reading.
Cast announces reunion in virtual skit
The reunion was announced via an Instagram skit. It began with Young, Tony Goldwyn and Fitzgerald Grant, who played Mellie Grant, and Tony Goldwyn chatting on Zoom.
Young tells Goldwyn: “It’s so long since I saw the entire “Scandal ” family together.” Remember how much we looked forward to the table reads? We would find out what Shonda, the writers and we had in store next. It was so crazy.”
He replies: “That’s the best.” Maybe we can do a reading online, like for a worthy cause.
Several actors then appear showing support for the event, including Scott Foley, Katie Lowes and Guillermo DÃaz.
