What You Need to Know About ‘The Golden Bachelorette’: Start Date, Cast, and More
It’s time for “The Golden Bachelorette” to take center stage.
Nearly a year after “The Golden Bachelor” made a splash with audiences, “The Golden Bachelorette” is ready to present roses and “attempt to find love again,” as stated by ABC.
In a first for the Bachelor franchise, 24 mature men, all in their prime, will compete for Golden Bachelorette Joan Vassos’s affection, according to ABC. “These men, having faced love’s ups and downs, arrive with hopes of creating a meaningful bond with Joan, which could lead to a future full of opportunities,” the network added.
Here’s what you need to know about the inaugural season of “The Golden Bachelorette,” including details on contestants, a preview trailer, and how to tune in.
Who is ‘The Golden Bachelorette’?
Joan Vassos, a participant from “The Golden Bachelor,” takes the lead as ABC’s first-ever “Golden Bachelorette.”
The 61-year-old private school administrator from Rockville, Maryland, was selected to star on the show after the popularity of “The Golden Bachelor,” as YSL News announced in February.
Vassos shared a romantic evening with Golden Bachelor Gerry Turner last season and became a fan favorite following her emotional exit from the show due to a health issue concerning her daughter that required her immediate attention.
On Turner’s season, Vassos opened up about the loss of her husband, John, who passed away from pancreatic cancer after 32 years of marriage. “He was the one who always made me feel protected and cherished,” she wrote on Instagram in January.
The Premiere Date of ‘The Golden Bachelorette’
The debut season of “The Golden Bachelorette” will kick off with a 2-hour episode on Wednesday, September 18, at 8 p.m. ET, with new episodes airing every Wednesday thereafter.
