Will ‘Emily in Paris’ be back for Season 5? Here’s what we know so far
Warning: Spoilers for Season 4 ahead.
This season has been a whirlwind for Emily Cooper, traveling from the stunning French Alps to the iconic piazzas of Rome. As Lily Collins mentions, “No one enjoys a vacation quite like Emily Cooper.”
So, is Emily making a permanent move to Rome? The simple answer is no.
The show’s creator, Darren Star, confirmed in a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter that Emily will not be leaving her Parisian life behind.
“We’ll explore some time in Rome. But she’s not rebranding her Instagram to Emily in Rome,” Star explained. “…Emily can thrive in both cities. She can enjoy her time in Rome and also in Paris. She’s not abandoning Paris.”
Additionally, Star mentioned to Glamour that if a fifth season happens, viewers can expect to see more of Emily in Rome.
“Emily [is now] there. We have an office, and right now, the storyline is drawing us to Rome,” he said. “While we’ll embrace more of Italy, Paris remains a key focus.”
A Look Back at Season 4
On the subject of Emily’s new romantic interest, Star told THR that he aimed to bring in Marcello Muratori as a refreshing change for the American living in Paris.
“I wanted to introduce a new love for Emily, a fresh chapter following all her drama with Gabriel,” Star recounted. “Marcello enters her life unexpectedly and opens up a world of opportunities: new locale, new experiences, and new adventures.”
However, it remains to be seen how long this new romance will hold, especially with a determined Gabriel (Lucas Bravo) making his way to Rome to win Emily back.
Alongside Emily’s new exploits, Season 4 was filled with surprising twists—from Camille’s faux pregnancy and subsequent decision to adopt to Mindy heading to Shanghai as a judge on “Chinese Popstar.” The season even featured a cameo by France’s First Lady, Brigitte Macron.
While Emily is set to return to Paris, Netflix has yet to officially confirm if “Emily in Paris” will be renewed for a fifth season. Here’s what’s known so far about Season 5’s cast and potential release date.
