Meet ‘The Golden Bachelorette’!

Joan Vassos, a former contestant from “The Golden Bachelor,” will be ABC’s first-ever leading lady in “The Golden Bachelorette.”

A private school administrator from Rockville, Maryland, Vassos, 61, was one of the show’s top candidates following the success of “The Golden Bachelor,” which YSL News exclusively reported in February.

Vassos had a memorable romantic moment with Golden Bachelor Gerry Turner last season, quickly becoming a fan favorite after her emotional exit from “The Golden Bachelor.” She left due to a medical issue concerning her daughter that required her attention.

Throughout Turner’s season, Vassos often shared heartfelt memories of her late husband, John, who passed away after battling pancreatic cancer for 32 years. “He was a partner who always made me feel secure and valued,” Vassos expressed on Instagram back in January.
