An 18-year-old girl tragically killed by boat propeller in New Jersey, according to police

New Jersey authorities are looking into a “sad boating accident” that resulted in the death of a young girl.

Zeina Mahafzah, an 18-year-old from Wayne, New Jersey, was trying to get onto a boat from a raft being towed by the vessel in the waters near Sunset Park in Harvey Cedars, about an hour away from Atlantic City, around 4:30 p.m. on Sunday when the boat’s propeller struck her, causing fatal injuries, stated New Jersey State Police on Monday.

Authorities noted that the investigation into the incident is ongoing, and additional details were not immediately available.

Although further specifics were not provided by the police, NBC10 Philadelphia reported that her father was operating the boat and that several other individuals were affected by the accident, receiving evaluations from EMS.
