Cause of Death for Slash’s Stepdaughter Lucy-Bleu Knight, 25, Disclosed
The cause of death for Lucy-Bleu Knight, the stepdaughter of Slash, has been disclosed.
According to the Los Angeles Medical Examiner’s Office, Lucy-Bleu tragically passed away by suicide on July 19 at the age of 25.
Two days later, Slash shared a heartfelt message about her on Instagram, a post also published by her mother, Meegan Hodges. He expressed that “she passed away peacefully” in Los Angeles, describing her as “an incredibly talented artist, a passionate dreamer, and a charming, lovable, sweet soul.”
In the post, the family asked for “minimal social media speculation” while they navigate this heartbreaking loss.
YSL News has contacted representatives for Slash for further comments.
The Instagram tribute highlighted that Knight, born on December 6, 1998, was the “beloved daughter of Meegan Hodges and Mark Knight, stepdaughter of Samantha Somers Knight and Slash, sister of Scarlet Knight, and stepsister of London and Cash Hudson.”
In a touching obituary, her family described Knight as “unforgettable, uninhibited, fearless, vibrant, inquisitive, creative, loving, caring, funny, smart, clever, and beautiful,” noting that “Lucy’s laughter was contagious, and her smile could brighten any room. She loved deeply and was cherished by all.”
The obituary elaborated: “Lucy inspired everyone she met to embrace their art and be true to themselves, serving as a champion for the vulnerable.”
The family requested that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the National Alliance of Mental Illness.
On July 27, Slash returned to Instagram to commemorate his late stepdaughter again, expressing his grief over her passing and writing that his “heart is permanently fractured.”
“I will always miss you and cherish the beautiful beacon of happiness, laughter, creativity, and beauty you have been in everyone’s lives,” Slash wrote. “I find comfort in knowing you are at peace now. My love for you is eternal.”
