Travis Kelce to Appear in ‘Happy Gilmore 2,’ Reveals Adam Sandler

Travis Kelce is making headlines once again, as he prepares to join the cast of Adam Sandler’s “Happy Gilmore” sequel.

During a recent visit to “The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon,” the “Billy Madison” star revealed that the tight end for the Kansas City Chiefs will make a cameo in the much-anticipated film. Sandler mentioned, “Travis brought it up, so we’ve worked something nice for him.”

“He’s coming aboard. He’s a wonderful guy. You all would love him in person,” Sandler shared with Fallon, praising Kelce as “what a big, handsome guy. He’s funny and super cool. A real gem, and he’s incredibly funny.”

Sandler noted that he has been trying to develop this sequel for quite some time but had not found the right ideas until now.

“Fans have been asking me for years, ‘When’s ‘Happy Gilmore 2′ coming out?’ But I always thought, ‘Nah, I might disappoint you,'” he explained. “Recently, my friend Tim Herlihy and I came up with a concept that we’re thrilled about,” Sandler added, promising fans, “we’re working hard to make it a film that you’ll enjoy.”

In May, Netflix announced that Sandler would reprise his role as Happy Gilmore, a feisty hockey player who becomes a golfer, from the beloved 1996 original. The film remains a cherished classic among Sandler’s fans and has garnered a dedicated following within the golfing community, not forgetting the memorable cameo from Bob Barker, the longtime host of “The Price Is Right.”

Kelce first hinted at his desire to be part of the film during his “New Heights” podcast in May, stating: “I’ll embrace any role in the movie. I’ll get involved in any way possible.”

Adam Sandler Confirms ‘Happy Gilmore’ Sequel is in Progress

In April, Sandler confirmed that “Happy Gilmore” is indeed getting a sequel. Christopher McDonald, who played Shooter McGavin, Happy’s rival in the original, disclosed in March that Sandler is actively engaged in this new project.

McDonald shared this news while appearing on a radio show, and during a subsequent appearance on “The Dan Patrick Show,” Sandler confirmed he had told McDonald they were “working on some things” for the upcoming movie but requested that he keep it under wraps.

Sandler humorously recounted, “He texted me afterwards saying, ‘Just a heads up about that secret I wasn’t supposed to mention, I mentioned it anyway,'” Sandler joked.
