Trevor Lawrence shares positive update post-concussion: ‘I’m home and doing better’
The quarterback for the Jacksonville Jaguars, Trevor Lawrence, provided some encouraging news on Sunday evening.
“I appreciate everyone who has reached out and prayed for me. I’m back home and feeling better. Your support means a lot, thank you all!” he posted on the social media platform X.
At 25 years old, Lawrence had to leave the game during the Jaguars’ contest against the Houston Texans late in the second quarter after suffering a serious head injury. The former first overall draft pick was sliding to finish a 6-yard run when Texans linebacker Azeez Al-Shaair flew in to tackle him.
Lawrence’s head struck the ground with force, prompting immediate medical attention from the Jaguars’ team staff. He was taken off the field via cart and did not return, having been diagnosed with a concussion.
His social media update is a positive sign for his recovery, but it remains uncertain whether he will be able to play in the upcoming game against the Tennessee Titans.
Mac Jones stepped in to take Lawrence’s place following the injury, and he will likely start in Week 14 if Lawrence isn’t able to play.
The Jaguars are currently 2-10, tying for the worst record in the NFL after their Week 13 defeat to the Texans. They are set to face the Titans at 1 p.m. ET on Sunday, December 8.
