Trina McGee’s Heartbreaking Journey: Miscarriage After Late Surprise Pregnancy at 54

‘Boy Meets World’ star Trina McGee experiences miscarriage at 54

Trina McGee has revealed some heartbreaking news regarding her pregnancy journey.

The “Boy Meets World” actress disclosed in a recent interview on the “Tamron Hall Show” that she has undergone a miscarriage after sharing her pregnancy news earlier this year at the age of 54.

“I lost the baby,” she shared. “It was unexpected, and it happened closer to the end of my first trimester. We don’t have a clear reason why it occurred. Still, I am thankful for the chance to have conceived at this age.”

Now 55, McGee mentioned that the miscarriage led her to feel “a lot of depression,” making it challenging for her to get out of bed each day.

McGee portrayed Angela Moore in the series “Boy Meets World,” which ran from 1993 to 2000. Back in June, she announced her pregnancy with her fourth child on Instagram, saying, “At the age of 54, I have found myself pregnant. Please send us your prayers for a safe delivery.”

In another conversation with Entertainment Tonight, McGee shared that her pregnancy happened after she visited Belize and spoke with shamans, claiming she created an elixir. She regarded the pregnancy as a “miracle,” noting that she had undergone tubal ligation and was a year into menopause. “I’m not a doctor,” she reminded ET. “I’m just an actress from the ’90s.” Fertility experts expressed doubts regarding her pregnancy situation.

During her appearance on “The Tamron Hall Show,” McGee reflected on how difficult it was to confront the reality that her hopes for a larger family had come to an end at this point in her life.

She elaborated on her desire to have a child at 54, stating that as a “very athletic” person, she looked forward to raising a child with her current husband. McGee already has three adult children from a previous marriage.

“It’s also about having so much more knowledge at this age,” she continued. “When you raise kids young, there are things you might miss. And that’s okay, but I wanted the chance to invest my knowledge into a child and see the resulting amazing individual that my husband and I can create.”

Reflecting on her pregnancy announcement from June, McGee described feeling “so excited” and “shocked.” Despite receiving backlash for wanting a child at her age, she mentioned hearing from women who, like her, aspire to get pregnant later in life and don’t want to be labeled as “high-risk pregnancies.”

Her husband, Marcello Thedford, also joined her on the show and mentioned that dealing with the miscarriage has been “difficult” for both of them.

“Just a few months ago, I was holding her belly every night, talking to the baby,” he expressed.

At the beginning of the interview, Hall shared her own experience of announcing her pregnancy at 48 in 2019. While most people were supportive, Hall recalled some criticism for being “irresponsible” to have a child at her age.

“I encountered those comments but thankfully moved on from them,” she said.
