Trump Signs Multiple Executive Orders on Monday: Key Highlights
After proclaiming a forthcoming “golden age” for the United States in his inaugural address on Monday, President Donald Trump dedicated the afternoon and evening to signing an array of executive orders.
Trump took the oath of office for his second term shortly after noon ET in a ceremony conducted in the Capitol Rotunda, as Washington D.C. was experiencing frigid temperatures.
In his address, Trump outlined ambitious initiatives, including large-scale deportations and declaring a national emergency at the southern border, alongside a vision of American expansion reaching as far as outer space.
“We will once again view our nation as a growing mission, enhancing our wealth, expanding our lands, constructing cities, elevating our expectations, and carrying our flag toward new and stunning horizons. We will pursue our manifest destiny while observing American astronauts plant our flag on Mars,” Trump declared.
Given the multitude of executive orders, many of which are likely to face legal challenges, it’s a bit overwhelming to track everything. Below are some of the most significant actions that have sparked conversation thus far.
