Two Florida Women Charged After Photographer’s Shooting Death Live Streamed
Authorities in Florida reported that Lakevia Davonna Pringle and Savon Chantay Tyler have been arrested in connection with the fatal shooting of 34-year-old Lauren Ashley Martin.
In a central Florida incident, police have arrested two women linked to the shooting death of a photographer that occurred outside a residence.
Lakevia Davonna Pringle, 31, and Savon Chantay Tyler, 35, face charges related to the death of Lauren Ashley Martin, aged 34. This incident took place outside Tyler’s home in Sanford, Florida. Officers arrived at the scene on Tuesday around 7:00 p.m. local time and found Martin “lying in the roadway with multiple gunshot wounds,” as reported by the Sanford Police Department.
Martin was subsequently rushed to a nearby hospital, where she succumbed to her injuries. According to family members who spoke to local news outlet WESH, Martin was working as a photographer and had a dispute with Tyler regarding some photographs she had taken.
Investigators indicated that the two women had a history of arguments and that Martin drove to Tyler’s home to confront her. Their verbal dispute escalated into a physical confrontation, during which Tyler shot Martin multiple times, as stated by the police.
Reportedly, Pringle was present at the scene and live-streamed the incident on social media.
During the live stream, Pringle was heard urging Tyler to keep going with the altercation that resulted in Lauren’s death, according to the police’s statement. “Multiple attempts to question Pringle were unsuccessful because of her lack of cooperation,” police added.
Tyler was taken into custody shortly after the altercation without any issues and has been charged with first-degree murder. Pringle later turned herself in on Friday after an arrest warrant was issued by the Sanford police.
A police report indicates that Pringle was booked and taken to John E. Polk Correctional Facility without incident. She has been charged as a principal in the first degree for premeditated first-degree murder.
“A family is grieving the loss of a loved one because someone decided to handle a disagreement with violence. Although the reason for the argument may fade, the memory of Lauren will remain with her family and friends,” stated Sanford Police Chief Cecil Smith. “There are alternatives to violence.”
Sanford, home to around 65,000 residents, is located in Seminole County and is part of the Orlando-Kissimmee-Sanford Metropolitan Area, situated approximately 25 miles northeast of downtown Orlando, Florida.
