Tyreek Hill Expresses Commitment to Dolphins and Issues Apology to Tua Tagovailoa

Tyreek Hill expresses desire to remain with the Dolphins, offers apology to QB Tua Tagovailoa

Tyreek Hill mentioned that he might think about leaving the Miami Dolphins following their elimination from playoff consideration after a loss to the New York Jets in Week 18.

However, a month later, it seems he has dismissed that thought.

During his guest appearance on FanDuel TV’s “Up and Adams” at Super Bowl 59, Hill was asked if he wished to remain with the Dolphins. His answer was clear:

“I do,” Hill said to Kay Adams. “I don’t want to go anywhere. I love it here; my family loves it too.”

Hill initially expressed disappointment after Miami’s loss to the Jets since it marked the first time in his nine-year NFL career that he missed the playoffs. Regardless, he emphasized that he still believes in Dolphins coach Mike McDaniel, despite the team not making it to the postseason this year.

“We are truly creating something special in Miami,” Hill remarked. “We reached the playoffs in the first two seasons. Sure, this year was tough, but if everyone continues to support what the coach is building and the culture he’s establishing, it’s going to be fantastic.”

Hill reflected on his earlier comments at the end of the season, admitting that he “could have managed the situation better” rather than just saying he was “out.”

“I just said what I felt in the heat of the moment,” Hill acknowledged. “I’m fully responsible for that because I want to win.”

As part of taking responsibility, he used his platform to extend a public apology to his teammates. He particularly addressed Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa during his interview.

“This is my public apology to you, Tua,” Hill stated. “I appreciate you, bro.”

“Tua is my guy—he will always be my guy, no matter the circumstances,” Hill continued. “I’m sure he understands my frustration. We all want to win. Tua is a fierce competitor, and many people do not realize that. He’s a winner and consistent. I’m eager for us to deepen our relationship.”

Hill believes his teammates will move past his minor slip during his last media session of the 2024 NFL season.

“They know I’m not that type of player,” Hill insisted. “Some might label me a ‘hot head’ or say ‘He’s this or that,’ but all my teammates recognize that I show up to work each day, give my best effort, arrive at meetings on time, and do what I need to do.”
