Updates on Tyreek Hill’s Injury: Will the Dolphins WR Play Against the Rams in Week 10?

Throughout the 2024 NFL season, the Miami Dolphins have frequently faced challenges in maintaining full offensive strength, and there are concerns regarding their key players heading into Week 10.

Tyreek Hill, the Dolphins’ star wide receiver, is currently nursing a wrist injury that prevented him from participating in practice on Friday. This has left many fans and fantasy football managers anxious about whether Hill will be ready for the game in Week 10 or if he will need a break to recover.

Here’s what you need to know about Hill’s injury and his upcoming availability.

Update on Tyreek Hill’s Injury

Hill did not take part in practice on Friday due to his wrist issue, and there hasn’t been any further information provided about his condition from either Hill himself or the Dolphins.

Interestingly, Hill was not listed on the injury report for Thursday’s practice and participated fully in that session, indicating that his injury might have developed suddenly.

As the Dolphins prepare for “Monday Night Football” against the Los Angeles Rams, they will have to submit another injury report after Saturday’s practice. This report will offer more insight into Hill’s situation than the Friday absence did.

At this point, it remains uncertain whether Hill’s injury will keep him from participating against the Rams. The Dolphins have not released any updates after Friday’s practice, making it difficult to gauge the seriousness of the injury.

It’s also ambiguous whether this absence was simply a precautionary rest day, given that teams sometimes choose to rest veteran players. In Week 9, Miami allowed Hill a rest day with a foot injury, so a similar approach could be in play now.

However, Hill’s absence from the injury report for rest purposes raises some doubts about that idea. This is particularly notable as other players, such as Terron Armstead, Calais Campbell, and Jordan Poyer, missed Thursday’s practice for rest-related reasons.

How Hill performs in Saturday’s practice will be crucial in determining whether he will be classified as healthy, questionable, doubtful, or out for Monday’s matchup. Fantasy managers should monitor his status closely and consider alternatives from the waiver wire if he appears unable to play.

At this moment, it’s still too early to ascertain the severity of Hill’s injury.

Current Dolphins WR Depth Chart

The Dolphins currently have five wide receivers on their 53-man roster, including Hill:

  1. Tyreek Hill
  2. Jaylen Waddle
  3. Odell Beckham Jr.
  4. Malik Washington
  5. Dee Eskridge

If Hill can’t play, Waddle would step up as the leading option. Beckham and Washington would also take on increased responsibilities in the receiving lineup. Additionally, veteran River Cracraft, who is recovering from a shoulder injury, could return and help fill the gap left by Hill.

This season, the Dolphins have had ten different receivers accumulate playing time. Should Cracraft return for Week 10, that number will rise to eleven.
