What houses can you visit at HHN in 2024?
This year, Universal’s Halloween Horror Nights features a combination of licensed properties and original houses and scare zones. Four houses will be available across both coasts:
â—¾ Universal Monsters: Eternal Bloodlines – This house celebrates Universal’s classic horror film history, putting a fresh spin on it: all major characters are female. It features Saskia Van Helsing, daughter of Dracula’s nemesis, joining forces with the Bride of Frankenstein to confront Dracula’s daughter, She-Wolf, Anck-Su-Namun from the 1932 film “The Mummy,” and others. The Hollywood version is set in the original filming location for the “Dracula,” “Frankenstein,” and “The Bride of Frankenstein” films, known as Sound Stage 12.
â—¾ Insidious: The Further – Known as one of the most frightening HHN attractions, this house immerses guests in the “Insidious” series’ notorious red door, leading into the eerie realm of the Further where they will encounter the Red-Faced Demon, KeyFace, the Bride in Black, the Man Who Can’t Breathe, and other terrifying entities.
â—¾ Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire – Inspired by the newest “Ghostbusters” film, this exciting house mixes humor with beloved characters that fans will appreciate. Make sure to check out the adorable, animated mini Stay-Puft Marshmallows.
â—¾ A Quiet Place – This HHN house is the first to incorporate American Sign Language, inviting guests into the world of the first two “A Quiet Place” films, where they must avoid monstrous threats that attack anyone who creates noise.
Universal Orlando will host a total of 10 houses and five scare zones this year. The six original themes for its houses include:
◾ Triplets of Terror – Every decade, a trio of twisted triplets named Harmony, Melody, and Junior reenact their family’s brutal murders.
◾ Monstruos: The Monsters of Latin America – Building on a popular house from Universal Studios Hollywood last year, this installment brings legends like Tlahuelpuchi, La Lechuza, and El Silbón to life at Universal Orlando.
◾ The Museum: Deadly Exhibit – A newly unveiled exhibit called the Rotting Stone is causing havoc and Taking over everything at a folklore museum.
â—¾ Major Sweets Candy Factory – In this prequel to last year’s Sweet Revenge scare zone, Major Sweets is experimenting with his poisoned candy that turns children into hunters.
◾ Goblin’s Feast – In this eerie yet amusing goblin village, humans serve as the main dish alongside hobgoblins, witches, and orcs.
◾ Slaughter Sinema 2 – Visitors will step through the screen at the Carey Drive-In into what resembles an endless loop of B-horror films with zombie clowns, mummy dancers, and Killer Kringles, serving naughty kids to hungry elves.
Universal Florida hosts five scare zones: Enter the Blumhouse, Torture Faire, Swamp of the Undead, Demon Queens, and Duality of Fear. Visitors will encounter chainsaws and the sinister duo, SINIST3R and SURR3AL, overseeing this year’s festivities in Duality of Fear.
In addition to haunted houses and scare zones, attendees should catch the exciting new show, Nightmare Fuel: Nocturnal Circus, and explore the punk-themed HHN Tribute Store, an attraction in its own right.
Universal Studios Hollywood offers eight haunted houses, four scare zones, and its iconic Terror Tram, which allows guests to enter the Blumhouse. The unique houses include:
â—¾ The Weeknd: Nightmare Trilogy – Filled with thrilling surprises paired with The Weeknd’s award-winning music, this new installment follows last year’s The Weeknd: After Hours Nightmare house.
â—¾ The Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Legacy of Leatherface – This original narrative weaves together various versions of Leatherface in a house set within the meat factory referenced in the franchise’s first film.
â—¾ Monstruos 2: The Nightmares of Latin America – According to Universal Studios Hollywood, “You may attempt to evade the grasp of the rider El Charro, the devil dog El Cadejo, and the boogeyman El Cucuy, but you can’t outrun La Muerte” in this new house, which expands on last year’s Monstruos installment.
◾ Dead Exposure: Death Valley – This house features an outbreak of radioactive zombies.
The four scare zone themes are Luchadores Monstruosos, Murder of Crowz, Chainsaw Punkz, and Skull Lordz. The California park will also host a new interactive original talk show named “Late Night with Chucky” in its DreamWorks Theatre and bring back the thrilling stunt show, The Purge: Dangerous Waters.
