Unexpected Player Leads Successful Banishing on ‘The Traitors’: Discover Who Was Eliminated
The most recent episode of “The Traitors” was packed with deceit, both literal and figurative.
The contestants were divided into pairs for a challenge reminiscent of “Fear Factor,” which involved insects, spiders, and snakes. Each pair had to hold hands inside a glass tank while various creepy-crawlies were dropped in, vying for safety in the game. In the end, each participant had a snake draped over their shoulders.
The teams that managed to maintain their grip for longer than the others were shielded from the impending “murder” in the game.
Later on, the loyal contestants successfully identified their first traitor without the guidance of another traitor, although two traitors chose to eliminate their partner after promising loyalty.
As one of television’s chaotic seasons heads toward its conclusion, here’s a recap of what transpired in this episode, including who faced elimination and how many traitors remain.
‘The Traitors’: Who Met Their End?
This Thursday, “Big Brother” alum Derrick Levasseur was ‘murdered’ after accusing Boston Rob of being a traitor.
In the previous episode, Derrick confided in Dylan Efron that he anticipated Rob would betray him, claiming he was framed. Tragically, Derrick’s prediction came true, as he was notably absent from the breakfast table the next day.
In a poignant moment, Danielle Reyes broke down in tears, mourning the loss of her “Big Brother” ally. Unbeknownst to the faithfuls, her tears were motivated by guilt for allowing her fellow traitors to send him home.
Who Was Exiled?
“Survivor” champion Rob Mariano, famously known as “Boston Rob,” was the second traitor to be banished during this season’s roundtable discussion.
Earlier in the season, Rob had outed and eliminated another traitor, Bob The Drag Queen (Christopher Delmar Caldwell). This bold move aroused suspicion toward Rob himself, but he skillfully avoided two consecutive banishments and tried to persuade the others to eliminate “Big Brother” contestant Britney Haynes.
Ultimately, it was “Vanderpump Rules” star Tom Sandoval, whose outlandish theories were consistently dismissed by his peers, who spearheaded Rob’s banishment. Danielle and Carolyn Wiger also voted against him to divert suspicion away from themselves.
How Many Traitors Remain?
As of Episode 8, only two traitors are left in the game: “Big Brother” alum Danielle Reyes and “Survivor” finalist Carolyn Wiger.
Initially, four traitors were introduced at the start of Season 3, including “Boston” Rob Mariano and “RuPaul’s Drag Race” victor Bob the Drag Queen.
Who Might Get Eliminated Next Episode?
With the latest challenge providing shields to only half of the remaining contestants, at least five players are in jeopardy of being “murdered” in the next episode. Different from previous eliminations, the traitors (Danielle and Carolyn) will confront the player they decide to oust inside a church set.
The contestants at risk of being ‘murdered’ include:
- Chrishell Stause (“Selling Sunset”)
- Dolores Catania (“The Real Housewives of New Jersey”)
- Dylan Efron (“Down to Earth With Zac Efron”)
- Tom Sandoval (“Vanderpump Rules”)
- Gabby Windey (“The Bachelorette”)
