Welcome Back Horror Nights: New Events Announced for Universal Studios 2025
One exciting new event isn’t enough for Universal Studios Hollywood.
Earlier this year, the Southern California theme park revealed Universal Fan Fest Nights, a special after-hours springtime festival celebrating various fandoms such as anime, cosplay, fantasy, gaming, and science fiction.
On Thursday, Universal teased yet another upcoming event on their 2025 agenda. While no specifics were provided, it will take place in the summer.
The park also confirmed the much-loved return of events like Halloween Horror Nights in the fall and holiday festivities.
Here’s what we know so far about Universal Studios Hollywood’s events for next year:
Universal Studios Hollywood 2025 Events
Butterbeer Season – From Mar. 1 to May 31
This year marked the inaugural Butterbeer Season for both Universal Studios Hollywood and Universal Orlando Resort, featuring limited-time treats and the introduction of Florean Fortescue’s Ice-Cream Counter at the Hollywood park’s “Wizarding World of Harry Potter.” Exact details for next year’s event are yet to be revealed.
Universal Fan Fest Nights – Select nights from Apr. 25 to May 18
This ticketed after-hours event will feature experiences based on “Star Trek,” “The Wizarding World of Harry Potter,” “Dungeons & Dragons,” “Back to the Future,” and popular anime series like “One Piece” and “Jujutsu Kaisen.”
Summer Event (details to be revealed) – From Jun. 14 to Aug. 10

Fourth of July Celebration – Jul. 4
Previous celebrations have included fireworks, fife and drum performances, and festive decorations, all included with regular park admission.
Back to Hogwarts – Aug. to Sept. 1
This event invites guests to celebrate their house pride during a back-to-school theme in “The Wizarding World of Harry Potter” throughout regular park hours.
Halloween Horror Nights – Select nights from Sept. 4 to Nov. 2
Halloween Horror Nights is a major attraction at both Universal Studios Hollywood and Universal Orlando Resort. This special ticketed after-hours event is renowned for its high-quality intellectual property, original haunted houses, scare zones, exclusive entertainment, and the unique Terror Tram experience exclusive to Hollywood.
Holidays at Universal – November to December
The Grinch, from “How the Grinch Stole Christmas,” is typically the highlight of the holiday celebrations at the park. Festivities also occur in “The Wizarding World of Harry Potter,” and for the first time this year, special decorations will be added in Super Nintendo World. These holiday activities are included with regular park admission.
New Year’s Eve – Dec. 31
Guests can celebrate the arrival of the new year at the park’s aptly named gathering. This event promises music, dancing, fireworks, and a lively countdown to midnight, all included with the usual admission price.
Passholder Experiences
A variety of exclusive events for passholders will take place throughout the year, including special park takeovers, appreciation days, bonus benefit periods, and collectible giveaways.
“To fully enjoy everything Universal Studios Hollywood offers in 2025, guests can save up to $50 on an Annual or Season Pass, available for purchase online through Apr. 23, 2025,” according to the park’s announcement.
Ticket Prices for Universal Studios
A one-day general admission ticket for Universal Studios Hollywood starts at $109.
Separate pricing applies for after-hours events like Universal Fan Fest Nights and Halloween Horror Nights. Details on ticket prices for these events will be announced later, though last year’s Horror Nights tickets began at The price is set to rise to $77 in 2024, an increase from $74 in 2023.
