Exclusive: View the exciting trailer for Disney+’s ‘Music by John Williams’
It’s likely that “Music by John Williams” will feature the greatest documentary soundtrack in history.
You’re probably familiar with Williams’ legendary themes and music, from “Star Wars” and “Superman” to “Raiders of the Lost Ark” and the “Harry Potter” series. Now, you can discover more about the 92-year-old Oscar-winning composer, who is the focus of a new Disney+ documentary.
YSL News is thrilled to exclusively present the electrifying first trailer for “Music by John Williams.” For film lovers of a certain generation, this trailer will surely impress: Steven Spielberg, one of Williams’ close collaborators, explains how a simple two-note motif was as essential to his groundbreaking film “Jaws” as the iconic shark itself.
“It’s the most pure form of art I’ve encountered from anyone,” Spielberg remarks about Williams’ artistry. The documentary explores Williams’ early life and family history, featuring insights from notable figures in the film industry, including George Lucas, Kathleen Kennedy, Ron Howard, and J.J. Abrams, as well as Coldplay’s Chris Martin who reflect on the composer’s impact. “Music” places emphasis on Williams performing on the piano and sharing the significance of his extensive career, stating: “Music is sufficient for a lifetime, yet a lifetime is insufficient for music.”
Directed by filmmaker and author Laurent Bouzereau, “Music by John Williams” will premiere at AFI Fest on October 23 before it becomes available on Disney+ on November 1.
