Verizon claims the problem is fixed after a morning outage affected thousands
On Monday morning, many Verizon Wireless users reported service disruptions, as recorded by DownDetector, a site that monitors such issues, with Verizon stating that the problem has now been addressed.
As of 8:39 a.m. ET on Monday, more than 7,000 Verizon users had reported issues, with approximately 87% of them being mobile customers.
A spokesperson for Verizon stated via email to YSL News on Monday, “Some Verizon Wireless customers encountered a brief interruption when trying to call landline phones this morning. The issue was only temporary and has been resolved.”
Areas with significant outage reports included New York City, Pittsburgh, Phoenix, Chicago, and Charlotte, among other locations, according to DownDetector.
Customers took to X (formerly Twitter) to express their frustration over the inability to make calls.
