Waiver Wire Wonders: 10 Key Additions for Your Fantasy Football Team in NFL Week 4

Fantasy football waiver wire: 10 players to consider adding for NFL Week 4

This past week was quite unusual, with several lesser-known players delivering standout performances, while many star players underperformed.

Looking ahead to the next round of games, a new starting quarterback in Carolina could significantly alter the team’s offensive strategy. After a remarkable debut last week, is he a good addition to your lineup?

Additionally, there are emerging trends in how players are being utilized at different positions. Who might turn out to be the unexpected standout?

Lastly, it’s a great time to strengthen your roster as bye weeks are just around the corner!

Fantasy football players to consider adding for Week 4

The players listed below range from low to high availability in Fantrax leagues, reflecting varying needs across different leagues and teams.

TE Tyler Conklin, New York Jets (38% availability)

Despite Aaron Rodgers’ preference for tight ends, Conklin remains available in four out of ten leagues. His earlier performances (only one catch in each of the first two games) might explain this, but after a solid Week 3 showing with five catches for 53 yards, he could be a top target for teams with starting tight ends facing health issues this week.

TE Zach Ertz, Washington Commanders (45%)

For those who can’t grab Conklin, Ertz might still be an option. He was a consistent option for rookie QB Jayden Daniels on Monday, making five catches for 38 yards, including a vital fourth-down conversion. Given Daniels’ efficient play, Ertz is set to remain relevant moving forward.

WR Demario Douglas, New England Patriots (52%)

Douglas stood out as the Patriots’ top receiving target last Thursday, catching seven passes for 69 yards and rushing once for 9 yards. While QB Jacoby Brissett might not provide consistent performance (as evidenced by Douglas being shut out in Week 2), he’s likely to be the go-to option for the Pats’ aerial attack.

RB Roschon Johnson, Chicago Bears (53%)

With starter D’Andre Swift struggling early in the season, Johnson has emerged as a key contributor in the Bears’ backfield. He gained 30 yards on eight carries and added four catches for 32 yards in his last game. With third-down back Travis Homer injured, Johnson may see even more action.

RB Tyrone Tracy, New York Giants (54%)

A training camp injury set back this rookie, but he has started to find his way into the game plan. While Devin Singletary remains the starting running back, Tracy had a season-high 20 snaps last week, recording 40 yards on seven touches. His involvement should likely grow.

QB Andy Dalton, Carolina Panthers (75%)

After taking over a struggling offense from the ineffective Bryce Young, Dalton revitalized the Panthers’ offense with over 70% completion, throwing for 319 yards and three touchdowns. Notably, he boosted the fantasy output for RB Chuba Hubbard (169 total yards, TD) and WR Diontae Johnson (8 catches, 122 yards, TD). Although Dalton isn’t a standard starter in one-QB leagues, he could serve as a solid backup option against the Bengals if you have concerns about Brock Purdy.

WR Tutu Atwell, Los Angeles Rams (75%)

With Tyler Johnson and Demarcus Robinson struggling to fill the gap left by Puka Nacua and Cooper Kupp, Atwell stepped up with four catches for 93 yards, including a 50-yard reception in the Rams’ comeback win last week. QB Matthew Stafford effectively distributed the ball but was particularly successful targeting Atwell.

RB Emanuel Wilson, Green Bay Packers (79%)

Wilson had a breakout moment last week, taking a season-high 25 snaps against Tennessee. With starter Josh Jacobs underperforming (14 carries for 43 yards), Wilson showcased his speed and potential, accumulating 50 yards on 12 carries and catching a screen pass for a 31-yard touchdown.

RB Trey Sermon, Indianapolis Colts (82%)

While it’s wise not to overreact to just one sequence of plays, Sermon looked promising when he briefly stepped in for Jonathan Taylor, gaining 15 yards on two carries and scoring from one yard out. As the Colts’ second running back, he could have substantial fantasy value should anything happen to Taylor.

WR Tre Tucker, Las Vegas Raiders (82%)

With potential changes at quarterback for the Raiders, Tucker’s role could be affected either positively or negatively. In Week 3, he made a significant impact with a 54-yard catch early in the game and several receptions late on. As defenses focus on stars like Davante Adams and TE Brock Bowers, Tucker may see more opportunities, reflecting his strong performance of seven catches for 96 yards and a touchdown on Sunday.

These players stand out on this week’s waiver wire, but also remember to revisit last week’s recommendations, as some of those players may still be available.

Players who might still be accessible in your league include Cowboys WR Jalen Tolbert (currently 64% available, down from 78%) and Vikings wide receiver Jalen Nailor (also 64%, down from 88%).
