Why Project 2025 is a Promising Path for America’s Future

Opinion: Harris is mistaken about Project 2025. Our strategy benefits America.

The initiatives we’ve introduced aim to empower Americans in their pursuit of the American dream, which increasingly feels out of reach for many.

Recently, Vice President Kamala Harris has dedicated significant effort to criticizing Project 2025, the conservative agenda designed to reduce the administrative state’s control and return power to the American people.

In a recent interview that touched on a second assassination attempt against former President Donald Trump, the vice president went as far as labeling our initiatives a danger to American safety.

This comparison of policy discussions to violent actions is not only misleading but also perilous. So, before the vice president escalates this narrative, I want to clarify the facts.

Project 2025 is not about Donald Trump

Our policy initiatives focus on broader objectives and are not tied to any individual presidential candidate. Our efforts began in the spring of 2022, well before Trump declared his candidacy for a second term and prior to the primaries.

Moreover, our approach is not unique; many think tanks across the political spectrum, including the far-left Center for American Progress, engage in similar policy advocacy.

Historically, the Heritage Foundation has provided conservative policy frameworks during every election cycle since Ronald Reagan’s victories in the 1980s.

As it was then, our policies aim to empower Americans in their quest for the American dream—something that is increasingly perceived as unattainable.

This translates to advocating for the freedom of Americans to secure stable employment, provide for their families, and own homes in safe neighborhoods.

Unfortunately, most objective indicators show that it is increasingly challenging for Americans to achieve these goals now compared to when the Biden-Harris administration took office.

Americans face rising costs

With inflation rates at a 40-year high, a typical weekly paycheck is $160 larger than before, yet it buys $35 less than it did.

In the past year, the average American family has paid $709 more each month for essentials like food, clothing, housing, and transportation, compared to two years prior.

Average monthly mortgage payments have nearly doubled over the last four years, making homeownership increasingly unaffordable.

The White House is aware of these pressing issues, and millions of Americans are acutely aware of the repercussions stemming from this administration’s shortcomings. This is why many of our policies resonate with the public beyond the confines of Washington, D.C., and mainstream media influence.

A majority of people support deploying U.S. troops to the southern border to combat drug cartels, favor parental choice in education, and believe Congress should approve any significant regulations before implementation.

Though some policies we advocate, including dismantling the Department of Education and combating the pornography industry, may not enjoy widespread popularity, we hold they are crucial for restoring the integrity of our republic.

The mere existence of conservative organizations advocating for policy solutions should not cause alarm or feelings of unease.

What should be alarming is that, despite years of ineffective governance and ongoing attacks on us, this administration continues to promote the same outdated ideas detrimental to the American dream.

It should be concerning that the vice president deflects from essential policy discussions. Americans deserve a genuine dialogue, not mere sentiments.
