New York Fashion Week is returning, bringing excitement to the chilly streets of the city.

As sub-zero temperatures engulf the concrete skyline, some of the most sought-after styles from the Paris and Milan shows are anticipated to debut again during the city’s prominent fashion event for 2025. The official calendar provided by the Council of Fashion Designers of America guarantees showcases from renowned designers, alongside numerous celebrities and models attending an array of glamorous after-parties that will temporarily transform the city into a star-studded affair.

Beginning in early February with almost 60 runway shows, NYFW’s autumn/winter edition promises to feature exceptional works from creators like Brandon Maxwell, Christian Siriano, and Sergio Hudson. Maxwell’s performance, expected to display a collection of elegantly tailored neutral pieces, will set the stage for the week, while Thom Browne’s fashion showcase, highlighting traditional American menswear, will conclude the event.

When is New York Fashion Week 2025?

NYFW is set to take place from Thursday, February 6, to Tuesday, February 11, with extended presentations available by appointment the following week.

The fashion week will make a comeback for a spring/summer edition later in the year, scheduled from September 11 to September 16.

Where is NYFW held?

The runway shows will take place across various locations in the city, leading to a flurry of activity for models and fashion reporters alike (TLDR: Wear comfy shoes).

From the Ritz-Carlton in NoMad to the Museum of Modern Art in Midtown, designers will present their latest collections in a range of venues. In previous years, New York Fashion Week had a central hub, from the tents at Bryant Park in the 1990s to mid-2000s to its recent home at Spring Studios, which briefly moved to RXR’s Starrett-Lehigh Building in Chelsea in 2024.

What is NYFW?

As a biannual event, New York Fashion Week allows designers to unveil their collections to press and retailers through runway shows and presentations.

Although the rise of the internet has made NYFW more accessible to the public, the allure of the event remains as strong as ever, with eager fashion enthusiasts and up-and-coming designers anxiously awaiting to see which stars will grace the shows and what fashion trends will dominate the season.

Last year, the CFDA collaborated with Rockefeller Center for the first time to provide streaming of collection presentations for public viewing.
