WWE Bad Blood 2024: Cody Rhodes and Roman Reigns Triumph as The Rock Makes an Electrifying Comeback

WWE Bad Blood 2024 results: Cody Rhodes, Roman Reigns victorious; The Rock makes a return

It’s time to resolve some lingering issues.

After a two-decade hiatus, WWE has reintroduced the Bad Blood premium live event, and it’s the perfect name for an event showcasing multiple rivalries reaching new heights or coming to a conclusion this Saturday night.

Highlighting the event are two of 2024’s biggest rivalries: CM Punk and Drew McIntyre battling in a Hell in a Cell match, along with Cody Rhodes and Roman Reigns setting aside their differences to confront the revamped Bloodline. Also on the card, The Judgment Day faces off against the Terror Twins in two matches, plus a rematch for the WWE Women’s Championship.

Stay tuned to YSL News Sports for all the coverage from Bad Blood 2024:

Kevin Owens confronts Cody Rhodes after Bad Blood

Cody Rhodes was set to address the press following the event, but Triple H announced that Rhodes would not make it.

Shortly thereafter, videos circulated on social media showing Kevin Owens attacking WWE Champion Cody Rhodes in front of fans who were outside the arena eager to see the talent post-show.

Owens has been upset with Cody lately due to his partnership with Roman Reigns.

The Rock makes an appearance at Bad Blood

As the main event wrapped up, The Rock made a surprise appearance to close out the show. While he didn’t speak, he made gestures toward both Cody Rhodes and Roman Reigns, who were all involved in the WrestleMania 40 main event.

Cody Rhodes and Roman Reigns vs. The Bloodline results

Roman Reigns and WWE Champion Cody Rhodes delivered on their promise and defeated Jacob Fatu and Solo Sikoa from The Bloodline.

With their connections to Georgia, Roman and Cody enjoyed significant crowd support throughout the match.

Roman, a former Georgia Tech football player, and Cody, currently based in Atlanta, capitalized on the crowd’s energy. After a back-and-forth contest, the momentum shifted when Cody leaped from the turnbuckle, crashing down onto Jacob, who was laid out on an announce table.

This effectively sidelined Jacob for the remainder of the match, allowing Roman to continue battling Solo in the ring.

Tama Tonga and Tanga Loa rushed to the ring to distract Roman, but Jimmy Uso quickly intervened to provide backup.

Roman was visibly surprised to see Jimmy in the ring.

Earlier in the night, Jimmy’s brother, Jey Uso, was spotted in the audience but did not appear during the main event.

As Cody and Roman shared a moment before leaving the ring, Cody was suddenly attacked by members of The Bloodline. Although Roman hesitated, he ultimately decided to return to the ring after a push from Jimmy, helping to fend off the attackers alongside Cody.

Cody Rhodes features University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff marching band

For his entrance, Cody Rhodes invited the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff marching band to perform his entrance theme “Kingdom” as he walked down to the ring.

The band gained attention after their viral performance of Cody’s song at a football game in August.

Rhea Ripley vs. Liv Morgan results

Dominik Mysterio managed to unlock the cage and open the door just as Rhea executed a frog splash on Liv. Rhea was momentarily distracted by taunting Dominik.

As Dominik attempted to exit the cage, he ended up dangling by a chain around his leg. Rhea then began striking him with a kendo stick until Raquel Rodriguez arrived to confront Rhea.

Raquel’s unexpected appearance turned the tide, enabling Liv to maintain her championship.

Notable attendees in the Bad Blood audience

A number of WWE Hall of Famers, including Sean “X-Pac” Waltman, Arn Anderson, and Tully Blanchard, were also present.

Triple H introduces new Crown Jewel championship at Bad Blood

Triple H took to the ring to present a new championship featuring a 15K carat diamond, which will be contested in two matches at Crown Jewel.

The chief content officer announced an attendance of 16,092 at Bad Blood, marking WWE’s 60th sold-out event in 2024.

Damian Priest vs. Finn Balor results

The match between Damian Priest and Finn Balor was closely contested until interference from Carlito and JD McDonagh of Judgement Day.

Judgement Day made their best attempt to interfere in the match, but Priest managed to overcome the odds and clinch a win against Balor with a South of Heaven chokeslam.

Results of Bayley vs. Nia Jax for the RAW Women’s Title

In the match, Nia Jax utilized her strength to dominate Bayley from the start. Although Bayley tried to turn the tide, Jax executed slams on her against the steel steps and the barricade outside the ring.

During a skirmish between the fighters, referee Jessika Carr was accidentally knocked down, preventing Bayley from getting a pin on Nia due to the absence of the official. Tiffany Stratton then made her way to the ring, seemingly ready to cash in her Money in the Bank briefcase and claim the title.

While Stratton couldn’t make the most of the moment, her presence distracted Jax enough to secure her victory after delivering a Samoan drop followed by her finishing move, the Annihilator, on Bayley.

Hell in a Cell Match: CM Punk vs. Drew McIntyre Results

The ongoing rivalry came to a bloody conclusion fittingly under the title “Bad Blood.”

Drew McIntyre took control early, causing CM Punk to bleed with brutal strikes, using the steel stairs outside the ring. Punk retaliated, injuring McIntyre as well after striking him with a metal toolbox, leading both men to fight with blood streaming down their faces.

Things slowed down after McIntyre caught Punk while he was attempting a suplex, turning the tables by suplexing Punk out of the ring and crashing them both through a table.

In a dramatic finish, Punk wrapped a steel chain around his knee and struck McIntyre in the face, leading to a messy, bloody aftermath in the ring where red, white, and blue beads were scattered—these were reminders of Punk’s beaded bracelet that held the names of his wife AJ Lee and his dog “Larry,” which McIntyre had taken.

Punk exited the ring but collapsed on his way back to the locker room, necessitating brief medical attention.

Metro Boomin Attends Bad Blood

Record producer Metro Boomin was present at the start of Bad Blood, arriving alongside WWE Champion Cody Rhodes. He was also pictured with WWE Chief Content Officer Paul “Triple H” Levesque on social media. Metro Boomin’s song “GTA,” alongside Future, served as the theme song for the event.

James H. Williams’ Predictions for Bad Blood 2024

  • Damian Priest vs. Finn Balor: With tensions high, stemming from their time in Judgement Day, Balor’s actions led to the end of Priest’s previous title reign of 118 days. I anticipate Carlito and JD McDonagh will assist Balor, but will that be sufficient? My pick: Damian Priest.
  • Liv Morgan vs. Rhea Ripley: This rivalry has been ongoing since 2022, and with the championship on the line and Dominik Mysterio in a shark cage above the ring, it’s poised for a climax. Liv often outsmarts Rhea, but I believe Rhea will be aggressive and aim to dominate early. My prediction: Rhea Ripley.
  • Nia Jax vs. Bayley: Bayley has earned seven title reigns during her WWE run and may add another soon. Nia Jax has made a strong comeback and is the reigning champion; however, Tiffany Stratton’s potential plan with her Money in the Bank opportunity could influence the outcome. My choice: Nia Jax.
  • CM Punk vs. Drew McIntyre: CM Punk has thwarted Drew McIntyre’s chances of DOE success lately, and McIntyre’s personal jabs at Punk suggest a heated rivalry. With both locked in a cage for this match, it will likely determine the ultimate victor of their feud. My prediction: Drew McIntyre.
  • Cody Rhodes & Roman Reigns vs. The Bloodline (Solo Sikoa and Jacob Fatu): Cody Rhodes and Roman Reigns, who battled at the last two WrestleManias, align now to take on The Bloodline. While the involvement of other Bloodline members may play a role, I believe Kevin Owens may sway the match outcome due to recent discontent toward Cody. My call: The Bloodline.

Jordan Mendoza’s Predictions for Bad Blood 2024

  • Damian Priest vs. Finn Balor: Balor spent a significant time in the background while Priest was making his ascent. Balor ultimately secures his revenge and gains some much-needed momentum with a win, potentially aided by The Judgement Day. Winner: Finn Balor.
  • Liv Morgan vs. Rhea Ripley: The rules favor Ripley, but don’t underestimate any tricks from Morgan. Regardless, it seems one of the Terror Twins will emerge victorious, and Ripley continues her dominance in this rivalry. Winner: Rhea Ripley.
  • Nia Jax vs. Bayley: Bayley finally receives her chance for a rematch, but Jax is on a serious winning streak, making it hard to believe she’ll lose her title. Nonetheless, a Money in the Bank cash-in might still be expected. Winner: Nia Jax.
  • CM Punk vs. Drew McIntyre: The top feud in WWE comes to a climactic conclusion. Although either competitor could claim victory, CM Punk seems poised for a title match at WrestleMania, making this win crucial for him. Winner: CM Punk.
  • Cody Rhodes and Roman Reigns vs. The Bloodline (Solo Sikoa and Jacob Fatu): This match has the potential to get chaotic. Reigns takes another step toward reclaiming his title as “Tribal Chief.” However, could there be an unexpected twist after the match? Winner: Cody Rhodes and Roman Reigns.

Why does WWE Bad Blood start earlier than most premium live events?

The start time for Bad Blood is earlier than the typical WWE premium live event due to the UFC 307 PPV scheduled for later tonight, as reported by Fightful Select.

Both WWE and UFC are part of TKO Group Holdings.

WWE Bad Blood event history

This Saturday marks the fourth iteration of the Bad Blood event and the first since 2004.

The inaugural event occurred in 1997 with “Badd Blood: In Your House,” featuring the first-ever Hell in a Cell match between The Undertaker and Shawn Michaels in St. Louis.

Bad Blood made a return in 2003 in Houston and was held in Columbus, Ohio, the following year before taking a 20-year break. This Saturday will commemorate the 27th anniversary of the original Bad Blood event.

Liv Morgan vs. Rhea Ripley match rules

“Dirty” Dominik Mysterio will be confined to a cage during the Women’s World Championship match.

Since Mysterio has been supporting Morgan after turning on Ripley, he won’t have the opportunity to interfere this time.

During the match, Mysterio will be suspended above the ring in a shark cage, left to watch without any means to impact the outcome.

AJ Styles update

Wrestling veteran AJ Styles returned to SmackDown last night in Tennessee but reportedly sustained an injury during a match against Carmelo Hayes. WWE’s Jackie Redmond has provided an update on Styles.
