‘College GameDay’ Welcomes WWE Champion Cody Rhodes as Celebrity Picker
What’s on your mind regarding “College GameDay”?
This week, the excitement of ESPN’s college football pregame show will be amplified by WWE Champion Cody Rhodes, who will serve as the celebrity guest picker. The event will be broadcast from Athens, Georgia, featuring a game between the Georgia Bulldogs and the Tennessee Volunteers.
Rhodes, a Georgia native, proudly supports the Bulldogs. He expressed his love for the team during an appearance on “The Pat McAfee Show,” identifying himself as a true “Georgia guy.”
“The ‘Dawgs are my everything. I attended Georgia football camp as a kid and even took a photo with Uga,” he shared. “I’m passionate about my ‘Dawgs.”
Rhodes joins a lineup of WWE personalities on the show, including Pat McAfee, a WWE commentator during football’s off-season. Earlier this season, wrestler Sheamus was the guest picker in his hometown of Ireland as the show opened its 2024 season with a game between Georgia Tech and Florida State. In 2022, Bianca Belair was featured when her former school faced Florida. Other past WWE guests include Stone Cold Steve Austin, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, Roman Reigns, Goldberg, and Jerry “The King” Lawler.
Since becoming the WWE champion at WrestleMania 40 in April, Rhodes has recently added the inaugural Crown Jewel Championship to his accolades.
