Carnival Cruise Line Increases Prices for Wi-Fi and Beverage Packages

Carnival Cruise Line Increases Costs for Wi-Fi and Drink Packages

Passengers on Carnival Cruise Line might notice higher prices during their next voyage.

The company has increased prices for Wi-Fi and, in certain cases, drink packages. The basic Social Wi-Fi Plan is now priced at $18.70 per day when ordered before the cruise, and $22 if bought on board, rising from $15.30 and $18, respectively.

The Value Wi-Fi Plan now costs $22.10 per day ahead of the cruise and $26 on the ship—up from previous prices of $19.55 and $23—while the Premium Wi-Fi Plan has been set at $23.80 per day if purchased in advance and $28 onboard, compared to the former pre-cruise rate of $21.25 and a post-embarkation cost of $25 per day.

As for beverages, the Cheers! drink package, which includes a selection of wines and spirits, is also seeing a price increase.

For voyages lasting six days or longer, the package was formerly priced at $70.74 per person, per day when bought before the cruise and $76.64 for those who purchase it onboard – these rates inclusive of service fees. Packages for shorter trips were priced even higher.

The cruise line has eliminated its pricing based on cruise duration, now imposing a standard higher price of $82.54 before embarking and $88.44 for purchases made onboard for all types of cruises.

“We take pride in the quality and value of the Carnival cruise experience we provide,” commented Carnival representative Matt Lupoli in an email to YSL News. “Recent minor price adjustments are necessary to accommodate rising costs and improvements in our onboard offerings, allowing us to maintain the exceptional experiences our guests cherish.”

Lupoli did not disclose when these changes were implemented.

Carnival is not the only cruise line to increase its prices lately; Royal Caribbean International also raised its gratuity rates last month.
