TSA Agents Discover Inert Grenade at LaGuardia Airport in New York
This week, TSA agents at LaGuardia Airport in New York reported the discovery of an inert grenade on Monday.
A passenger’s checked bag led to the find, as confirmed by a TSA spokesperson on Tuesday morning to YSL News.
Authorities, including Port Authority police and TSA explosive specialists, were called in. The traveler explained that he received the grenade as a souvenir from a museum, according to the TSA representative.
The TSA confirmed that the grenade was inert, meaning it was a safe training device that had been modified to eliminate any risk of detonation, as defined by the United States Marine Corps.
The inert grenade was subsequently handed over to TSA explosives experts, who plan to utilize it in their training for TSA personnel, as stated by the TSA to YSL News.
