The iconic Crocker Mansion in Mahwah, New Jersey, has officially returned to the market this month after being confiscated from a billionaire fraudster in 2023.
This stunning 120-year-old estate, located at 675 Ramapo Valley Road, spans 58 rooms across four floors and offers nearly 50,000 square feet of living area on a 12.5-acre lot nestled in the Ramapo Mountains. It is now privately listed for $33 million, represented by Compass New Jersey agents Diane Cookson and Carl Gambino along with the Fox & Stokes team.
Constructed between 1901 and 1907 by railway heir George Crocker, the mansion includes 21 bedrooms, 29 bathrooms, a grand great hall and dining area, a library adorned with gold leaf, elegant marble staircases, an indoor spa and sauna, a tearoom, a billiards room, and even a movie theater.
Additional amenities include a tennis court, multiple fountains, and a garage that accommodates eight cars.
“Welcome to the Crocker Mansion, an extraordinary estate that exemplifies architectural brilliance just 25 miles from the bustling center of New York City,” the listing states.
This listing follows the mansion’s seizure in April 2023 from its former owner, Ho Wan Kwok, better known as Miles Guo. He faced charges for allegedly orchestrating a complex scheme that defrauded thousands of online followers out of over $1 billion. His financial associate, Kin Ming Je, also known as William Je, was charged alongside him in a 12-count federal indictment that included charges of bank fraud, money laundering, securities fraud, and wire fraud.
Guo bought the Crocker Mansion for $26 million at the end of December 2021, making it the most expensive home sold in New Jersey that year. The estate was just one among several properties and assets, including a 98-inch television, a Bösendorfer grand piano, and numerous luxury sports cars, seized by federal authorities.
In July, a jury convicted Guo on nine counts of fraud and conspiracy but acquitted him on three counts, according to Courthouse News Service.
