Brandon Sklenar, who stars alongside Blake Lively in “It Ends with Us,” has shown his support for her amid serious allegations made against their co-star and director, Justin Baldoni.

On Saturday, The New York Times published a piece regarding Lively’s shocking claims against Baldoni, which suggest he ignored previously given consent and worked to tarnish the reputation of Lively, known for her role in “Gossip Girl.” Two days later, Sklenar used his Instagram story to express his support for Lively.

“For heaven’s sake read this,” he posted, tagging Lively and including a red heart emoji. Reports emerged on Saturday indicating that Lively had filed her sexual harassment complaint with the California Civil Rights Department, marking the initial move before potentially pursuing a lawsuit.

The film, adapted from Colleen Hoover’s best-selling novel, tells the story of a flower shop owner, Lily Blossom Bloom (played by Lively), who falls for a charming neurosurgeon, Ryle Kincaid (Baldoni), while also reconnecting with her steadfast childhood friend, Atlas Corrigan (Sklenar).

Back in August, rumors of a feud between the “It Ends with Us” cast and Baldoni made headlines. Observers noted that Baldoni was alone on the red carpet with his wife, Emily, during the film’s premiere, while Sklenar posed for photos with Lively and her famous husband, Ryan Reynolds.

Additionally, fans pointed out that Hoover, Lively, Sklenar, and co-star Jenny Slate all unfollowed Baldoni on social media.

He went on to say that targeting the women who dedicated so much to this film feels counterproductive and detracts from its true message.

“I assure you, everyone involved knew the importance of our task,” Sklenar stated. “We owe it to women who have faced generational trauma or domestic abuse to handle this film with care and sensitivity.”

He concluded by reminding his followers that “It Ends With Us” is designed to be uplifting. It seeks to validate experiences, foster hope, and instill courage, while ensuring that women are not portrayed as villains.
