Beyoncé Bowl now streaming on Netflix: Must-see highlights from her incredible halftime performance

Beyoncé has once again made a significant cultural impact with her groundbreaking Christmas Day halftime show on Netflix, now available as a unique special on the platform.

The creator of “Cowboy Carter” delivered a stunning 12-minute performance at NRG Stadium just as the Baltimore Ravens triumphed over her Houston Texans on December 25.

The event, known as the “Beyoncé Bowl,” attracted an impressive 27 million viewers in the U.S., as reported by Netflix. Among the audience aged 18-34, this Ravens-Texans game emerged as the most-watched Christmas Day game in history, garnering 5.1 million viewers. Given this streaming achievement, it raises the question of whether Netflix will establish a new tradition with Christmas Day halftime shows, although matching Beyoncé’s extravagant display will be a challenge.

Beyoncé is no stranger to cultural milestones, having previously set new standards with her prior Super Bowl halftime shows and iconic career moments. She notably introduced her self-titled 2013 album “Beyoncé” and the culturally influential 2016 album “Lemonade,” along with her unforgettable “Beychella” performance in 2019—these are just a few highlights of her remarkable career.

As fans rush to Netflix to either relive the Beyoncé Bowl or experience it for the first time, here are several unforgettable moments that you certainly won’t want to overlook.

Special guests and standout moments at the Beyoncé Bowl

This halftime performance marked the first occasion that the Grammy-winning artist performed tracks from her eighth studio album, “Cowboy Carter.” She made sure to feature some of her collaborators, including Post Malone, Shaboozey, and vocalists Reyna Roberts, Tanner Adell, Brittney Spencer, and Tiera Kennedy, who performed “Blackbiird.”

Beyoncé’s daughter, Blue Ivy Carter, also took the spotlight, performing alongside her mother in a memorable rendition of “Texas Hold ‘Em.” If viewers pay close attention, they’ll notice Blue Ivy dancing with Beyoncé’s backup dancers during several other numbers as well.

Fans were excited to see the return of Beyoncé’s longtime dance captain Ashley Everett, who danced alongside her during the show. Ashley had previously taken a brief hiatus during the Renaissance World Tour but has been a fixture in Beyoncé’s performances for 17 years.

Who else joined the fun?

During the show, the Houston Texans cheerleaders participated, along with 200 members of Texas Southern University’s Ocean of Soul Marching Band, adding to the celebration of historically Black colleges and universities.

Beyoncé embraced the opportunity to showcase Black country artists and honored Western and rodeo culture throughout her performance.

Additional special guests included Mexican Cowgirl Melanie Rivera, bull-riding legend Myrtis Dightman Jr. (known as the “Jackie Robinson of Rodeo”), former Miss Rodeo Texas Princess (2004) and Miss Rodeo Texas (2015) Nikki Woodward, and Arkansas’s first Black Rodeo Queen, Ja’Dayia Kursh. They were accompanied by Houston Texans owner Cal McNair and his wife, Hannah.

A Spectacular Arrival and Departure

The iconic performer made a stunning entrance, riding in on horseback while donning a white cowboy hat and fluffy duster. She captivated the audience with her song “16 Carriages” as she made her way under the stadium. Just before stepping onto the field, she posed powerfully alongside horses with her entourage.

As expected, she wrapped up her performance soaring into the air while belting out her hit “Texas Hold ‘Em,” with a huge “bang” sign lighting up the scene.

As the night came to a close, she stirred curiosity among fans by sharing the date January 14 on her social media. The significance of this date remains a mystery, but for now, the Cowboy Carter Christmas celebration continues.
