Skip Bayless, Fox Sports executive implicated in lawsuit over sexual and workplace harassment
A former hairstylist for Fox Sports has initiated legal action claiming that an executive groped her and used his authority to “sexually harass women.” The lawsuit also states that Skip Bayless, a former Fox personality, allegedly offered to compensate her for sex.
This lawsuit was filed by Noushin Faraji, who states she was employed by Fox Sports from 2012 until August 2024, in a Los Angeles County court on Friday. Fox Sports, along with its affiliated properties, as well as FS1 executive vice president Charlie Dixon, Bayless, and network host Joy Taylor are named as defendants.
The first report on this lawsuit came from Front Office Sports.
“Faraji brings this action because for over ten years at Fox, she endured a workplace that was misogynistic, racist, and discriminatory against people with disabilities, where executives and talent could verbally and physically abuse colleagues without consequences,” according to the lawsuit.
In a response to YSL News Sports, Fox Sports remarked, “We take these claims seriously and will not comment further at this time due to the ongoing litigation.”
Charges against Fox Sports executive Charlie Dixon
Faraji claims that Dixon inappropriately touched her during a party for Taylor in West Hollywood in January 2017. She reported feeling humiliated and attempted to discuss the incident with Taylor, a friend, but was dismissed with, “get over it,” as per the lawsuit.
The lawsuit also mentions that an unnamed employee informed Faraji she would not be renewed for her contract after she refused to engage in sexual relations with Dixon. This person indicated that Dixon “was doing this to other women as well,” according to the suit.
The lawsuit claims that Fox didn’t adequately investigate Dixon’s behavior related to sexual advances, asserting that he exploited his power to compel women into sexual encounters.
The suit states, “Fox, being aware or should have been aware of Dixon’s tendency to sexually harass women, bears responsibility for the resulting harm.”
Charges against Skip Bayless
During her time at Fox Sports, Faraji styled hair for multiple shows, including “Undisputed,” where she worked with Bayless.
The lawsuit claims that shortly after starting her weekly sessions with Bayless, he “found reasons to make physical contact” with her. Over the years, Faraji states that his inappropriate advances persisted. In July 2021, when she shared a potential cancer diagnosis with him in the hopes of deterring his advances, he allegedly continued.
The lawsuit details, “Bayless expressed his desire to be with her. Ms. Faraji panicked, stating that she saw cameras everywhere, that she had a child, and did not want him,” adding that Bayless then took her hands, kissed them, and offered her $1.5 million for sex. Ms. Faraji made an excuse to leave the situation.”
Another attempt by Bayless allegedly occurred the following week, where when Faraji pointed out his marriage, he further commented on her religious beliefs. He even suggested she might be involved with his “Undisputed” co-host, Shannon Sharpe, as stated in the legal complaint.
The inappropriate interactions with Bayless extended into 2024, where he allegedly told Faraji he fantasized about her and inquired how much she would want for sex.
Bayless remained at Fox Sports until August, when he departed “Undisputed” and the network after eight years. During this period, Faraji reported being fired, with the suit alleging Bayless told her that Dixon wanted her terminated “because she knew too much and was speaking out.”
According to the lawsuit, “Ms. Faraji has experienced ongoing losses in income, benefits, and other financial factors. Additionally, she has undergone emotional distress, shame, embarrassment, and fear, all of which will be proven at the time of trial.”
“When Ms. Faraji and others reported these issues, Fox retaliated against them, while those who perpetrated the harassment or defended the perpetrators received promotions instead.”
Currently, Bayless hosts his own YouTube podcast, “The Skip Bayless Show.”
Charges against Joy Taylor
Alongside Taylor’s involvement in Faraji’s accusations against Dixon, the lawsuit also makes direct allegations against Taylor.
Faraji claims that after their friendship ended, Taylor began “belittling her both personally and professionally.” Faraji, of Persian descent, also asserts that Taylor ridiculed her name’s “English” pronunciation.
Previously a host on “Undisputed,” Taylor is currently a co-host on FS1’s “Speak” with Keyshawn Johnson and Paul Pierce.
