Lisa Kudrow recalls touching gift from Matthew Perry during recent interview: ‘Matthew gave that to me’
Lisa Kudrow and Matthew Perry will always share a deep friendship.
The “No Good Deed” star reflected on her late “Friends” co-star Perry, who passed away from acute ketamine effects in October 2023, during an episode of “The Drew Barrymore Show” on Tuesday.
“Matthew gave that to me at the end of our last episode,” Kudrow shared with Barrymore. “I recently came across the note he left for me inside it. I never opened it up or examined it until now.”
Kudrow expressed to Barrymore that Perry had given her a cookie jar from the iconic show’s set and admitted she was “too afraid” to reveal what she herself had taken from the set.
“He had a note in there, which I had completely forgotten about,” Kudrow mentioned to Barrymore, emphasizing how “timing is everything.”
Kudrow starred alongside Perry for ten years on “Friends” from 1994 to 2004, and the two, along with the entire cast, developed a close friendship. They worked with Jennifer Aniston, Courtney Cox, David Schwimmer, and Matt LeBlanc.

In November 2023, she honored Perry through an Instagram post after his death.
The actress, who portrayed Phoebe Buffay alongside Perry’s Chandler Bing, shared a nostalgic image of the two together, bidding farewell to her cherished co-star.
“We filmed the pilot, Friends Like Us, it got picked up right away, and soon after we were at the NBC Upfronts. Then… You suggested we play poker AND made it incredibly fun while we began bonding. Thank you for that,” Kudrow wrote. “Thank you for making me laugh so hard every single day that my muscles ached and tears streamed down my face.”
She continued: “Thank you for your openness in a six-way relationship that required adaptation. And a lot of discussions,” Kudrow added. “Thank you for showing up to work even when you weren’t feeling your best, yet still managing to be exceptional.”
“Thank you for the best decade a person could wish for. Thank you for your trust in me. Thank you for all the lessons I learned about GRACE and LOVE through knowing you. Thank you for the time I got to spend with you, Matthew,” she concluded.
