Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs Faces Allegations of Sexual Assault in New Lawsuit Involving a Minor from 2000

Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs faces new allegations of sexually assaulting a 16-year-old girl in 2000

Sean “Diddy” Combs is being sued by a woman who charges that he sexually assaulted her when she was just 16 years old. At the time, she was babysitting in a building in lower Manhattan where his romantic partner supposedly resided.

In a lawsuit filed on January 7 in New York Supreme Court, the woman, referred to as Jane Doe, alleges that while leaving her babysitting job one evening in August or September 2000, Combs, who was purportedly sitting in a car alongside “two male associates,” offered her a ride home. Despite her repeated refusals—she stated her home was just around the corner—she ultimately accepted the offer.

According to the lawsuit, “Getting into Combs’ car that day was a decision (Doe) would eternally regret. During the journey, she grew frightened when they passed her home without stopping.” Combs allegedly handed her a drink to “calm her nerves,” which caused her to feel dizzy and unstable. It is claimed that Combs and his associates then took her to a location where she was assaulted.

Doe states that she was “eventually brought back home and left in the lobby” by the driver associated with Combs.

In a statement provided to YSL News on Monday, Combs’ legal team stated, “No matter how many lawsuits emerge, it will not alter the truth that Mr. Combs has never sexually assaulted or trafficked anyone, whether male or female, adult or minor. We inhabit a world where lawsuits can be filed for any number of reasons.”

“Thankfully, a just and neutral judicial system is in place to uncover the truth, and Mr. Combs is assured he will succeed in court.”

TMZ was the first to break the story about the lawsuit.

Jane Doe intends to privately share her identity with Diddy’s lawyers

Doe claims that as a student at the New York City Museum School during that time, she has endured “financial losses, physical harm, emotional pain, and significant psychological and emotional distress” as a result of the alleged incident. She seeks a jury trial and compensation from the defendants “to be determined at trial.”

In documentation supporting Doe’s decision to proceed anonymously, her lawyer, Michael Rubin, emphasized that survivors of child sexual abuse “not only experience embarrassment and shame but are often subject to social stigma,” and Doe’s identity remains undisclosed.

“Additionally, (Doe) wishes to keep her identity private to safeguard her from public exposure and prevent social stigma,” Rubin added. He further stated: “Given the sensitive nature of (her) injuries, this case warrants the court’s authority to maintain anonymity to shield (Doe) from potential harassment and social stigma.”

Rubin noted that Doe’s name will be “confidentially disclosed” to the defendants—Combs, Bad Boy Records, Combs Enterprises, and John Does 1 and 2—so they can “thoroughly investigate and defend against (her) claims in the usual discovery process.”

Several Jane Doe accusers ordered to reveal their identities

In recent months, some of Combs’ anonymous accusers have been required by court orders to disclose their identities. Last month, Anna Kane submitted an amended complaint exactly one year after suing Combs and Harve Pierre, the former president of Bad Boy Records, for an alleged “gang rape” that occurred in 2003, when she was 17.

Her original lawsuit was filed under the name Jane Doe on December 6, 2023. In February 2024, U.S. District Judge Jessica G. L. Clarke ruled that Kane could not continue with her case anonymously, citing that she “failed to demonstrate specific harm or present vulnerabilities.”

In contrast, an Alabama woman who accused Combs and Jay-Z of drugging and raping her when she was 13 at an MTV Video Music Awards after-party received permission last month from a federal judge to move forward with her case while remaining anonymous.

Judge Analisa Torres remarked that her ruling could be reviewed as the case moves ahead, acknowledging the delicate nature of the woman’s allegations, her supposed mental health challenges, and the potential risks of retaliation from Combs for her decision to speak out.

Combs currently is incarcerated after being denied bail multiple times. His trial is scheduled to start on May 5. He has consistently claimed he is innocent amidst more than two dozen civil lawsuits filed in the past year, accusing him of rape, trafficking, and sexual misconduct spanning from the 1990s to 2024.

Federal authorities allege that the 55-year-old orchestrated a scheme to exploit his wealth and fame in the entertainment sector to “satisfy his sexual desires” through a “recurrent and widely known” pattern of abuse. In September 2024, he pleaded not guilty to federal charges of racketeering, sex trafficking, and transportation for prostitution.
