Spencer Pratt rejoices as Heidi Montag tops iTunes charts following house fire
Spencer Pratt is encouraging fans to stream Heidi Montag’s music after their home was destroyed in the recent wildfires in Los Angeles.
On Friday, Pratt, 41, shared a humorous video slideshow on TikTok in front of their charred residence, donning a T-shirt featuring the cover art of Montag’s 2009 single “Body Language.”
“Please listen to any of @heidimontag’s music on all streaming platforms; it would really help us out! Thank you,” he captioned the video, which featured Montag’s 2010 song “Look How I’m Doin” as its soundtrack.
The plea seems to have had an impact, with Montag’s 2009 hit and her 2010 album “Superficial” reaching the top spot on iTunes, more than ten years after their initial release.
Pratt expressed his joy in an Instagram video on Sunday, taking a playful jab at Bad Bunny, whose “DebĆ Tirar MĆ”s Fotos” now sits at No. 2 on iTunes, while aiming for success on the Billboard charts as well.
“Who needs a house? Who needs clothes, who needs anything when you have this kind of fame and pop stardom?” he exclaimed. “I donāt even care if this fame fades away in a moment. Thank you, everyone. You have no idea how much this means.”
The former stars of “The Hills” witnessed their house go up in flames during the ongoing Pacific Palisades wildfires in California, sharing their frightening experience on social media last week. The couple has been open about their ordeal, with Montag, 38, expressing her sorrow in videos while Pratt maintains a deadpan approach to the situation.
Pratt initially uploaded a series of clips on Snapchat, mentioning that there was a “fire just down the street” and that “the wind is fierce.”
“Well, this isn’t looking great,” he remarked as the fire drew near.
He filmed himself gathering belongings to evacuate as multiple wind-fueled wildfires in California forced over 30,000 residents to escape their homes, later revealing security camera footage of their deck and nursery engulfed in flames. They have two sons: Gunner, 7, and Ryker, 2.
“I’m witnessing our house burn down through the security cameras,” the “Hills” star told viewers in a Snapchat video from inside his car. In another TikTok, he shared clips of the fire, stating that his “worst nightmare had become reality.”
On Wednesday morning, Montag, 38, posted a heartfelt video on Snapchat, visibly upset, stating she was “so sad that our house is gone.”
In a prior video while she was shopping at a grocery store, Montag confirmed, “Our house did burn down,” but reassured, “We’re safe, and that’s what matters most.”
