Walmart reveals ‘contemporary’ new logo. The online community can’t spot the difference.
On Monday, Walmart announced a “complete brand overhaul,” which the company claims reflects its transformation into a “people-centric, technology-driven omnichannel retailer.”
As stated in a news announcement, the new branding aims to “more accurately represent Walmart’s identity today.” Highlights of this brand refresh feature a wordmark inspired by Sam Walton’s iconic trucker hat, designed with a “modern, unique font that distinguishes Walmart from others.”
Moreover, the spark “captures the essence of Walmart’s energy,” and the color scheme “draws upon the retailer’s most well-known colors and its blue heritage, while introducing fresh updates to keep the brand relevant,” the company noted.
Walmart plans to roll out the refreshed branding across various platforms and customer interactions, including its website, mobile app, and physical stores, starting in January 2025. The retailer mentioned that the rollout began in October 2024, and the revamping of additional stores will occur over time.
