Riley Keough Unveils Intriguing Insights into Lisa Marie Presley’s Union with Michael Jackson

Riley Keough shares insights about her mother Lisa Marie Presley’s relationship with Michael Jackson

Riley Keough is shedding light on some lesser-known aspects of her famous family’s history.

During a recent episode of the “Call Her Daddy” podcast with host Alex Cooper, the author of “From Here to the Great Unknown” discussed her late mother, Lisa Marie Presley’s marriage to music icon Michael Jackson.

Keough noted, “I think when she observed Michael’s lifestyle, there were aspects he had that she lacked,” referencing Jackson’s luxurious way of living with his airplanes and helpers, adding that “that changed” during her mother’s brief marriage to him.

According to Keough, their lives were not wildly different despite the fame, explaining that “our lives weren’t more chaotic because we were already familiar with the media frenzy and the paparazzi.”

She also spoke on her mother’s relationship with Jackson, stating, “What I know is that they were truly in love and that their affection for one another was authentic because I experienced it firsthand. Everything else is beyond my knowledge as I wasn’t present.”

Prior to marrying Presley, who passed away in 2023, Jackson had faced accusations of child sexual abuse. However, Keough shared that neither she nor her mother ever discussed these allegations regarding her ex-stepfather.

“I was never informed about it. Honestly, it’s not something I ever thought to ask as an adult,” Keough expressed to Cooper. “It simply was what it was. It never crossed my mind, I suppose.”

Lisa Marie, the daughter of the legendary Elvis Presley, tied the knot with Jackson in 1994, and they divorced in 1996.

Keough continued by reflecting on her father’s potential thoughts regarding the allegations against Jackson: “I can only assume he expressed a lot to my mom that we weren’t privy to but my parents were very much about not arguing in front of us.” She added, “We were unaware of any allegations, it just wasn’t on our radar.”

Keough is the daughter of Presley and musician Danny Keough, and she also had a brother, Ben, who tragically took his own life in July 2020.

Lisa Marie Presley shared family truths in book coauthored with Riley Keough

Presley unveiled family secrets in a posthumous book, co-written with her daughter, that was published last year.

In the book, she recounted bringing Ben home after his suicide in 2020. “I became extremely accustomed to him, looking after him and keeping him there” in a 55-degree room, she shared.

Both Lisa Marie and Riley decided to honor Ben by getting tattoos of his name on their collarbones and hands, just as he had done with their names. When the tattoo artist asked for photos to position the ink, what happened next surprised Riley.

Presley also reminisced about her connection with Jackson, writing that “there was a unique energy about him, something truly extraordinary that I had never felt before, except with my dad. I fell in love with him because he felt so normal.”

She addressed the child molestation claims with a strong statement: “I never witnessed anything even close to that. I would have personally harmed him if I had.”
