Ozzy Osbourne’s Final Performance: Black Sabbath to Reunite After Two Decades
This marks the end of an era for Ozzy Osbourne’s live performances.
The iconic heavy metal figure, along with his band Black Sabbath, will come together once more at a charity event in Birmingham, United Kingdom, on July 5. They will be joined by notable bands such as Metallica, Slayer, Pantera, and many others.
This event will be the band’s first performance together in 20 years. Sharon Osbourne, Ozzy’s wife, shared with BBC on Wednesday that he is eager to take the stage for this final concert.
“Ozzy never got the chance to say goodbye to his friends and fans, and he feels there’s an unfinished chapter,” she explained. “This concert will serve as his closure.”
“In my heart, I believe it’s time to give back to the city where I was born,” Ozzy Osbourne stated. “I’m incredibly fortunate to do this with the support of those I cherish. Birmingham is the heart of metal.”
The concert will feature the complete and original lineup of Black Sabbath—guitarist Tony Iommi, bassist Geezer Butler, drummer Bill Ward, and Osbourne—performing together for the first time since 2005.
At 76, Ozzy has made limited public appearances due to several health challenges in recent years, which include a Parkinson’s disease diagnosis in 2019. He also suffered a spinal injury that year, hindering his ability to tour. In 2023, he announced that he was canceling U.K. and European tour dates because of ongoing health struggles following three surgeries and stem cell treatments.
Event organizers have stated that all profits from the concert will be donated to charities, including Cure Parkinson’s.
