Good Samaritan rescues stranded dolphin

A kind-hearted individual took action upon spotting a stranded dolphin calf on a beach near Cape Town, South Africa.

Rugby star Percy Montgomery, who led South Africa to a World Cup win in 2007, was enjoying a getaway with friends when they noticed the dolphin in trouble while driving along the Western Cape.

Without hesitation, they parked the car and hurried down the cliffs to the beach. Montgomery recalled that his instincts took over; he carefully lifted the slippery dolphin and waded back into the water, attempting to return it to the sea.

Unfortunately, the dolphin appeared confused and was swiftly washed back onto the shore, prompting Montgomery to make another attempt.
