The Los Angeles Dodgers organized a special bobblehead night for Shohei Ohtani on Wednesday, where the first 40,000 fans received a giveaway that featured his cherished dog. The Dodgers also included a few rare golden bobbleheads among the distribution.

Fans began lining up outside Dodger Stadium long before noon for a game scheduled to start at 7:10 p.m. By the time the game started, hundreds, if not thousands, were eagerly waiting to grab this collectible item.

The atmosphere inside Dodger Stadium was electric. Since the event was in honor of both Ohtani and Decoy, the slugger brought his pup along. The ceremonial first pitch was cleverly thrown — or retrieved — by Decoy, who delivered a perfect throw to his owner and celebrated with a high five while sporting a Dodgers jersey.

Fueled by the spirit of his adorable dog, Ohtani started the game with a bang. Batting first in the bottom of the first inning, he knocked a pitch from Corbin Burnes into the right field pavilion for a home run.

The night was already exciting, and Ohtani is steadily making history in Los Angeles. Having entered the elite 40/40 club—achieving 40 home runs and 40 stolen bases in one season—he is on the verge of becoming the first player to reach the 50/50 milestone.
