Patrick Mahomes: Taylor Swift is so into football that she’s ‘drawing up plays’
If Kansas City Chiefs coach Andy Reid ever decides to have Taylor Swift create some plays, the pop star will be “Ready For It.”
Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes shared in a recent NBC interview that Swift has been coming up with plays for the team.
“She’s really passionate about football and asks a lot of insightful questions,” Mahomes mentioned during his chat with NBC’s Chris Simms. “She’s already sketching out plays. We might need to implement one of her ideas.”
Swift has been in a relationship with Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce for nearly a year. As one of the most recognized figures globally, her presence at 13 Kansas City games last season, including the Chiefs’ victory in Super Bowl 58, significantly boosted NFL TV ratings. Additionally, she has drawn many of her fans towards the sport, something Mahomes sees as a positive influence.
“It’s been neat to see young girls and women really taking an interest in football,” Mahomes noted regarding Swift’s impact. “As a father of girls, it’s heartwarming to see how much enjoyment these little girls, these daughters, have while spending time with their dads watching football. Meeting Taylor and seeing how down-to-earth and genuine she is has been meaningful to me because, as you know, she’s one of the most famous individuals in the world. She could easily be otherwise.”
Mahomes is a father to a young daughter and son and is looking forward to welcoming a third child with his wife, Brittany.
